'Camp Obama' for Malia and Sasha

July 10, 2009 7:11 AM

ABC News' Yunji de Nies and Sunlen Miller report:

First lady Michelle Obama thought about sending her daughters away to summer camp, she said recently, but instead decided on another program -- "Camp Obama."

It's not your everyday sleep away camp, but a world-class adventure for first tweens Malia and Sasha Obama who just this week alone will breeze through Moscow, Italy and Ghana.

Check out our report from Rome on First Tweens Malia and Sasha's summer vacation:

It's good to learn "the Obamas pay for every extra room, meal and souvenir" to accommodate their children on the trip. As it should be, and good to know that's what happens.

Liberty & Tyranny by Mark Levin. Read it people!!!!!

Who thinks that the Obamas pay for all
the expenses of the "family" on trips?
Even with Rezko behind bars, he has
a cadre of fat cats with "walkin' around
money"......just like ChiTown when he
was shufflin' around, organizing ...
um...uh ..."things". These guys will
pick up the tab. They got his back.
And if not, the taxpayers do.

The best education in the world is travel and I am so glad to see the girls being taken along. And they do look too cute.

"I think the Obama's are setting a good example for families. If possible take the children along with you during the summer break wherever it is you go, rather then sit them in front of the T.V. all day long."

Absolutely agree. Waiting for the limp right wingers to attack the family for being a family.

If you keep running stories about the Obama girls they are going to end up being comedic fodder on late night comedy shows.

I'd give you odds the only way that would happen is if they declared themselves Republicans. I'm sick to death of the gross double standards typically applied. AND all the attacks on someone NOT because of what they do or say, but only based on which party they're in - or even worse and more common on bb's, based only on which party someone ASSUMES someone else is in.

Somehow that picture makes all 4 of them look like they have jet lag. Or maybe it's just the -8 approval rating that Obama now has in the polls.

I guess they need to do something to fill the time since they certainly aren't wasting time offering any real policy ideas (a few pretty slick brochures without any numbers maybe).

Great that they can afford to pay the extra. Good old American free market at work. You make your money and can spend it any way you want - unless of course the government takes it away.

Axey:"I would be far more interested in knowing what kind of deal the Obamas have with J Crew. "

That pretty much sums up Republican priorities at the moment. I guess they need to do something to fill the time since they certainly aren't wasting time offering any real policy ideas (a few pretty slick brochures without any numbers maybe).

Palin sez leave the kids alone!

I think the Obama's are setting a good example for families. If possible take the children along with you during the summer break wherever it is you go, rather then sit them in front of the T.V. all day long. These girls are getting the best cultural experience of their lives, and after two long years away from their father, they deserve it.

What would you do, go to Europe or to a crappy camp in the good old USA???????

When the jackels in the WH stop troting them out like props....maybe.

According to the UK Guardian:

"(Malia) was snapped leaving a Rome ice-cream parlour today in a T-shirt bearing the CND symbol, one of the world's most recognisable and political logos. Given the intense sartorial scrutiny to which her parents have been exposed, it seems unlikely that the T-shirt was packed or pulled on by accident."

Is it good or bad that the press didn't report on Malia wearing a "peace symbol" tee?

Posted by: Letterwoman | Jul 10, 2009 10:02:52 AM

I haven't seen where the WH or the Obamas have said anything about J Crew using their daughters in a promotional stunt. I would be far more interested in knowing what kind of deal the Obamas have with J Crew.

Can't you jackals in the media just leave Sasha and Mali alone?
