I COULDA HAD A G-8!!
July 08, 2009 12:04 PM
Buon giorno from the G-8 summit L'Aquila, Italy, a place rocked by a devastating earthquake and aftershocks and a major sex scandal involving the host, Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi.
He, President Obama, and the 6 other leaders of the G-8 world powers will today discuss the global economic crisis, aid to Africa, food security and climate change -- we expect President Obama to herald the recent passage of the climate change bill in the House.
At tonight's political dinner, the leaders will discuss what to do about Iran and North Korea's nuclear weapons programs, and hold a wider discussion about President Obama's April speech in Prague on eliminating nuclear weapons worldwide.

You're being unfair! The Obama Administration has had ONLY A FEW SHORT MONTHS (H/T danita) to come up with these fake numbers! Their goal has always been to come up with fake numbers by mid-term elections 2010!
=============
Oh gee, Timmy, you're right!! What WAS I thinkin'?? Maybe because its ONLY BEEN A FEW SHORT MONTHS (H/T danita), the Obama Administration got a little carried away and felt they had to help us out a little. Just lookin' out for the little guy.
Besides, since we all know its crucially important to do all the stimulus spending the year AFTER the recession - THE WORST RECESSION SINCE THE GREAT DEPRESSION (h/t Obama), they'll have a lot of chances to come up with more fake numbers NEXT year. That'll work well AND save us all some money too, since they'll be doing all that traveling and speechifying then anyhow, what with the elections and all.

And competence!
Democrats can't even tie their own shoes - while Republicans can manage a typical world economic crisis with a snap of their blessed fingers.
no contest . .. .

Those filthy lying Democrats and those clean honest Republicans - hardly a contest really.

"When asked WHERE those jobs actually were, the WH admitted that they had just guessed at a number . . ."
Oh those darn cheaters! I just knew it, I knew it, I knew it! Those Democrats are cheaters!I knew it!
Cheaters! Cheaters! Cheaters! Liars, liar pants on fire!
Where are all those nice decent clean Republicans we got to love so well?!!! Those nice clean Republicans. Gosh, if only . ...

Where are the jobs? Where is the hard data? In 5 months, the government can't come out with one single statement about how many jobs have been created?
Posted by: Traffic Cop Timmy | Jul 8, 2009 2:44:15 PM
=======
Yep, I agree completely. They did try to make a claim of 150,000 jobs created. When asked WHERE those jobs actually were, because no one could figure it out or figure out how the Obama admin came up with the number, the WH admitted that they had just guessed at a number, based solely on calculations of how many jobs they thought OUGHT to be created by the amount of money that had gone out to that point.

In the Queue - add full amnesty for all illegal aliens. Obama has already targeted that as another 'crisis' that MUST be fixed THIS year, crucial, cannot wait, right along with every other problem in the world.
Fox has a decent article out today, calling both Biden and Obama out on their revisionist history of the Stimulus and economy.
-----
Stimulus Spending Is Making Things Worse Not Better
-----
it includes:
tie into media, esp Stephanopoulos and those daily morning conference calls with the White House
calls out both Obama n Biden on claims that 4th Q data wasn't available when they promised unemployment no higher than 8% if stimulus enacted.
calls out the revisionist history trying to make it out like the stimulus just hasn't had enough time to work, noting: "Of course, the 130 days were claimed to be more than enough time for the stimulus to work before the stimulus was passed. On January 25, Larry Summers, Obama's chief economic adviser, said that the economy would start improving "within weeks" of the stimulus plan being passed."

it is true that Obama has good speech writers (Favreau etc) but it is also important to remember that Obama's key slogan "Yes We Can" was plagarized from the Chavez/Heurta United Farm Worker agitation decades ago and then, more recently, was taken up as a mantra by the illegal alien protestors. Originally, before Obama "adopted it" (some might say stole), it was "Si Se Puede". Interestingly Obama's team did seem to use the original "Si Se Puede" chant when appealing to illegal alien voters and first generation Hispanics in certain states.

"I do remember David Gregory dissing him and arguing with him once. Is that what the press is supposed to do? Argue with the President because they can't suspend their loathing and actually be reporters?"
""Mr. President, we're seeing some turnover and some change within your administration, and I wonder what it says about what you think is necessary to turn your presidency around at this point?"
The president responded with: "I think it's necessary to continue doing -- to achieving results for the American people. We've got big challenges for this country and I've got a strategy to deal with them."
Bush then cited off a laundry list of current issues to deal with, ending with, "So there's a lot to do today, but we'll continue to be results-oriented."
But Gregory spoke up again: "But I asked you about your internal changes and what that says about how you think things need to be changed. They've been very public, your internal changes."
Responded Bush: "Well, David, I'm a results-oriented person, and my job is to achieve things for the American people, positive results that make us more secure and more prosperous. And of course, I will have people by my side that work toward that objective."
Bush then quipped, "Thank you for your penetrating question."
"Thank you," responded Gregory.
The president joked, "Plus, I'm not going to hire you, if that's what you were suggesting," referring to the hiring of Fox News contributor Tony Snow. The remark caused laughter.
Said Gregory, "I was not suggesting that," causing more laughter.
Bush ended the exchange with, "I would, except you can't pass the background check. Okay, an unnecessary cheap shot, I take it back.""

News organizations from around the world agree that the G8 holds little significance. According to newsy.com, only 1/3 of the aid promised to Africa was received. Obama's arrogance is starting to show through. Honestly, it's sickening.

"It also has something to do with the fact that he never felt compelled to explain his actions to the press."
Yes why explain one's actions to the people or face questions about those actions. Posted by: Ryan C | Jul 8, 2009 4:23:20 PM

I should have said "personally" explain. He actually did hold some press conferences and I'll be sure to find out how many if I can.
So where in the President's Oath of Office does it say he has to personally hold press conferences? I'll be looking that one up to.
I'll have to repeat myself below because you cherry-picked one sentence out of my post. Danita says that's not fair.
If the media slobbered all over Bush like they do Obama, it's no wonder he stayed in his office. Could it be it would just be another opportunity to twist his words and trash him? I do remember David Gregory dissing him and arguing with him once. Is that what the press is supposed to do? Argue with the President because they can't suspend their loathing and actually be reporters?
Besides, that's what the Press Secretary is for. The President is supposed to be in his office working. Obama can't seem to sit still long enough and Clinton... well at least he was in his office.

"I'm impressed about the speech writing. Had to Google to find it since you don't bother to identify your quotes. I guess you must be teaching us knuckle draggers how to research stuff, or something."
Yes what a travesty to have to google something I put in quotes.

"But I am glad you cleared that up. I was also under the assumption (don't go there) that someone else wrote his speeches. Could be hands on - could be his narcissism. Who knows."
So when nailed on speaking about something you have no clue about, make up NEW lies.

"This time around Obama needs to turn the conversation away from him—where it has lingered the last month, producing worrying poll numbers for the Democrats—and on to the issues."
Obama then went out and gave one of the best nomination speeches in memory.

Hmmm... The NYTimes says that "Mr. (Jon) Favreau, 27, has had a hand in practically every speech that the president-elect has delivered over the last four years, following Mr. Obama from his Senate office to the presidential campaign (to the White House)."

"Did you know that during WWI President Wilson allowed sheep to graze on the WH lawn to fill in for gardener who had left to join the military? Wilson raised $52,823 for the Red Cross by selling the wool."
Not I did not but I enjoy such trivia.

Your late. Long staff meeting?
I'm impressed about the speech writing. Had to Google to find it since you don't bother to identify your quotes. I guess you must be teaching us knuckle draggers how to research stuff, or something.
But I am glad you cleared that up. I was also under the assumption (don't go there) that someone else wrote his speeches. Could be hands on - could be his narcissism. Who knows.
I like this part of the TIME article, too:
"Obama knows well the power of a great speech. When his campaign came under fire before the Pennsylvania primary for controversial statements by Obama's pastor, the Rev. Jeremiah Wright, Obama delivered a historic speech on race that changed the conversation and stemmed the attacks. This time around Obama needs to turn the conversation away from him—where it has lingered the last month, producing worrying poll numbers for the Democrats—and on to the issues."
And the wheels of the bus go 'round and 'round.
