The President’s Plates: What’s Missing?

July 17, 2009 5:49 PM

ABC News' Sunlen Miller reports:

When you’re the President even what’s on your license plate matters. Or in this case, it’s what’s missing.  Many DC residents are wondering: where’s the presidential love in their plight for DC voting rights.

I'm all for a minimum IQ requirement to be allowed to vote.

Down with the Aristocracy and up with Meritocracy!

We need a political blend of Ralph Nader and Ron Paul to get us out of this mess.

However, I agree with Dumbo, that DC residents do not have a great history of electing exemplary leaders.

Listen up you folks thinking your going to make D.C. a state is just not going to happen. There is a way for you to vote, vote with the nearest state to your home. Some folks could go to Virginia and some in Maryland. The rest of us have to get into a state to become voters and you folks need to think about that. You're no more special to the rest of us out here. And that is just what needs to happen. If you want to vote, get yourselves in one of the states surround D.C. and get a voter registration card.

Representation... Too early, watching The Open.

I would think that more states should put this slogan on their plates.

I'd like my Illinois plates to read "Taxation without Respresentation" for as long as Durbin and Burris are in the Senate.

Change doesn't come quickly or easy....no pain, no gain.

If the President thinks it is a 'purely political issue', whu is he for it in the first place (as Senator)?

Why change its status if it is 'purely political' (i.e., no value other than political points scored)?

The President is all about change...change to the employment numbers, deficit, federal debtt, etc...all negative change.

WOW maybe some dopes like the residents of DC should not be allowed to vote. They have a habit of voting for people in jail for felony convictions to run the city/state.
