When In Rome...? Actually, not so much

July 09, 2009 5:20 PM

President Obama and French President Nicolas Sarkozy trade places on a dais with "Junior G8" delegates.

On first glance, the snapshot appears to show President Obama caught in a moment of less than lofty analysis. But upon looking at the video, the moment might seem to appear quite innocent -- one of those times when a picture can be misleading. The president was on a higher step and was stepping down -- so he looked down to assure his footing as the woman was walking up the stairs.

Although: not everyone agrees. Judge for yourself.

It's really ashame that everyone is always looking for some reason to say something bad about Mr Obama, like just because he is African American people are always looking for something bad to say about him Leave him the he'll alone! And let him do his job. Stop fault finding. Let god be our judge.

Things were so much simpler with President Bush and First Lady Laura Bush who having procreated for God, became good Christians and avoided any more evildoing

Sarkozy was obvious, but it seems as though, Obama was looking down while waiting for another woman who was coming down; he seemed to be looking for that other woman to take his arm.

It took a micro-second for him to smooth it off onto the steps.Very cautious of what he sees, how he sees it,and how we see him see it!

I am amazed at the arguments against this president when the treasury was looted the last eight years for the tune of 5 trillion dollars, the middle class has been robbed for the last 30 years through corporate scams, via health care fraud and the energy monopoly. On top of all that 9-11 gave took away all your rights long before Obama got there. I would think if people cared one bit about this country you would hope this presidents polcy's succeed in providing health care and drive down the deficit!

Haters stand down off my President!
Let me make sure that I understand something. HE IS STILL A MAN, RIGHT?

Then why are we surprised? Actually knowing and seeing that our President is still a real man makes him more sexy to me.

Being President of the United States of America does not change your gender or gender characteristics.

I do not really care what he was looking at, he is still the worst president that the United States has ever had. He is just a socialist and he will take away all of your freedoms. Hopefully the democrats get voted out in 2010.

The video clearly shows that Obama turned to help Emmanuella Louisdor 17 year old U.S G-8 delegate down the step. He was being gentleman that he is known to be. Sarkozy on other hand leaned back to get a better look. But why is Sarkozy getting a pass?

Emmanuella Louidsor was of 14 young people from around the world, chosen to meet with their countries leader at the G-8. Watch what her and other junior delegates say about helping Africa, climate change, and other important issues in the video.

You must ask yourself why do some people want to promote and believe the worst about Barack Obama. I believe media outlets that misrepresented Obama should apologize

Also why no mention of Emmanuella Louidsor a young American woman we should all be proud of.

How do you know he didn't take a glance?
You don't!

I just stumbled across this via Media Matters. This is what passes for journalism? What a maroon.

It's at moments like this that I am grateful I stopped watching network news in 1984 (the morning after the second Reagan-Mondale debate). And what a coincidence: the network providing that last straw in 1984 was ABC.

VP Biden says the President was misled by her figure and nobody was able to accurately estimate her age at the time....

A person's eyes are well situated to look at the good, the bad, and the ugly. If the opposite was to be the case, then eyes would have been placed at the back of a person's face.

People should not make a mountain out an ant hill.
