Good Morning Mr. President, You’ve Won the Nobel Peace Prize

October 09, 2009 10:24 AM

DeNies ABC News’ Yunji de Nies Reports:

What a wake-up call. Press Secretary Robert Gibbs called the president just before 6 a.m. this morning, waking him up to tell him that he had won the Nobel Peace Prize.  The White House says the president was “humbled” at the news.  No one at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue was expecting the award to go to the president and so aides had no statement or reaction ready to go. ABC News called one White House aide at 5:45 a.m., the sleepy aide said, “This better be good.” When told of the news, the aide replied, “Oh, that is good.”

The award is particularly stunning, given that the nomination deadline came just 11 days into Mr. Obama’s presidency. The nomination process is kept secret for 50 years, so it will be a long time before the nominator is known. Along with the honor comes a cash prize of $1.4 million. Aides say they expect the president to travel to Oslo to personally accept the award on December 10th.

Watch our GMA Report on the award and the committee’s reasoning here:

===Not exact exact. ===

Thanks for clearing that up.

===Last year SNL parodied Palin's Couric interview largely by using the actual interview's transcript with a few comedic flourishes. ===

Really? Then it wasn't exact exact?
_____________

Not exact exact. Just strikingly similar, strikingly similar. Some excerpts...

Palin: But ultimately, what the bailout does is help those who are concerned about the health care reform that is needed to help shore up our economy.

Fey: But ultimately what the bailout does is, help those that are concerned about the healthcare reform that is needed to help shore up our economy…

Palin: Um, helping, oh, it’s got to be about job creation, too.

Fey: …to help, uh, it's gotta be all about job creation, too.

Palin: Shoring up our economy, and putting it back on the right track.

Fey: Also, too, shoring up our economy and putting Fannie and Freddy back on the right track…

Palin: So health care reform and reducing taxes and reining in spending has got to accompany tax reductions, and tax relief for Americans…

Fey: and so healthcare reform and reducing taxes and reigning in spending...'cause Barack Obama, y'know...has got to accompany tax reductions and tax relief for Americans…

Palin: But one in five jobs created in the trade sector today. We’ve got to look at that as more opportunity. All of those things under the umbrella of job creation.

Fey: But one in five jobs being created today under the umbrella of job creation. That, you know...Also...

"Which words are you referring to?"

"Okay I've done my job exposing the extreme socialists on this blog. I will be moving to another one to call out other socialists."

ROFLMAO!

I think the RNC should ask for a refund.

Poor right wingers are so lost in the last century and then the glory of Shock and Awe which killed tens of thousands and maimed tens of thousands more . . . kill for peace, kill, kill, kill for peace.

Okay I've done my job exposing the extreme socialists on this blog. I will be moving to another one to call out other socialists. Again, my silence is not an indication of agreement. Carry on.

"Mister President, when did we install an ACORN Chapter in Oslo?"

Posted by: Sunnyr | Oct 9, 2009 4:01:22 PM

"Doesn't change the fact you cited the poll first. It's a citation. Leaf through the comments."

ROFLMAO!

You were the one cited the poll first with your 87% claim.

Now I realize you're not that bright but that figure you cited came from a poll done by Zogby.

I encourage anyone to leaf thru the comments to confirm your ignorance.

Seriously how dishonest can one get.

Someone who parrots right wing talking points is telling me to open my mind.

Think for yourself, it might be an interesting change for you.

Ah, the socialist retort. It's getting old, Ryan. Come up with a new one. I'm ready!

Posted by: Jenny | Oct 9, 2009 3:44:16 PM

What I stated was reaction to that poll from Zogby himself and Ed Morrissey at HotAir.

Seriously, how dishonest can one get.

jenny you seem to rely heavily on SNL to support your theories...might i suggest some conseling of some sort, because being "a little disturbed" doesn't quite seem to cover it
***************
I'll suggest the same thing to you that I suggested to Ryan. Your socialist arguments do not work here and you should read all arguments to a position. Ryan used a citation of a Zogby poll. I suggest you also bone up on your definitions.

And I can keep going all night. Next?

Posted by: Jenny | Oct 9, 2009 3:42:09 PM

"Ryan, here's a definition for you. CITATION: a. A quoting of an authoritative source for substantiation."

Here's what you wrote Jenny

"Ryan - you just tried to make your point using a Zogby poll.'

You were the one who cited Zogby's poll.

What I stated was reaction to that poll from Zogby himself and Ed Morrissey at HotAir.

Seriously, how dishonest can one get.

Posted by: Ryan C | Oct 9, 2009 3:41:58 PM

jenny, do you understand the difference between a citation and a quotation?

Posted by: cowgirl | Oct 9, 2009 3:39:53 PM

Citing Zogby's comment on something is not citing his poll.

Seriously how dishonest can you get?

(note to Jenny the above is what is known as a rhetorical question and does not actually require an answer)

********
Ryan, here's a definition for you. CITATION: a. A quoting of an authoritative source for substantiation.

Listen - open your mind and read other opinions beside what the socialist left is feeding you. I promise it won't hurt - it will broaden your mind. There are a few things that disturb me about what you said - that you don't know the truth about the Honduras. Just reading all the facts about that situation will help you understand how brainwashed you have become while supporting obama's socialism.

It wouldn't hurt to try.

Posted by: Jenny | Oct 9, 2009 3:20:28 PM

"His brother, the obama superdelegate, probably gave him crap for reporting the truth about obama supporters."

This world right wingers are told they live in by the right wing media seems quite bizarre.

Its where a pollster pushes himself away from a poll ran by his firm because it was widely ridiculed as biased and worthless (even by other right wingers) not because his firm's reputation is at stake but because his brother gave him a hard time.
