'Party in the U.S.A' for First Tweens
November 03, 2009 8:45 PM
ABC NEWS' Yunji de Nies Reports:
Earlier this summer, Mrs. Obama also took her daughters to a Beyonce concert at the same venue.
The First Tweens have also had a chance to meet some of their favorite teen idols in person. On Inauguration night, while their parents took in 10 balls, the girls went on a scavenger hunt to get to know their new home. Hiding in the East Room of the White House? None other than all three Jonas brothers.
No word on whether the girls will get any special treatment or backstage passes, but Mrs. Obama has said she wants to limit her daughters' exposure to celebrities to ensure they have a "normal" upbringing.

P.S Anything about Miley is newsworthy.

This is not about politics at all. This is about different people coming together in peace and love to see Miley. Whatever the President's policies, I like Michelle and the girls better because they are Miley fans like me.

Give the kids a break. They didn't ask to be living in the White House. But honestly, if I were Sasha or Malia, I definitely would be taking advantage of my connections to meet as many famous people as possible before my dad got kicked out of office.

I love how anytime ANYONE criticizes Obama it's racist hate speech.
Posted by: PissedOffPatriot | Nov 4, 2009 7:32:30 PM
I really, really can't stand President Obama's politics or policies. But this as a news story? This has absolutely nothing to do with him. The First Family, should be left alone. Sounds like the kids are doing normal "tween" stuff. So what?
Posted by: Marine Sniper | Nov 4, 2009 6:49:03 PM
The real reason that moma Michelle took the kids out of the house on the night when some elections were held, is so that the 2 girls wouldn't see their father cry when his guys, in 3 different areas only has one survive. Just call it another murder in New Jersey as the Democrook governor got a big kick in the pants. Let's not forget, that papa Obama went to NJ 5 times to stump on the polls for the governor. What's the name of that song...."YOU'VE LOST THAT LOVING FEELING"....

I agree with Honest Abe & Megan. This is family stuff, and it should be hands off no matter what. This should not even be a news story, besides maybe in the review of the concert where they say that Michelle and the kids were spotted at the concert.
How much of it is taxpayer money? Well, the gas to get there and the security detail involved, but that is a given. We can't expect any President or their family to refrain from leaving the White House for that reason.
But in the grand scale of things, opinions are like noses and everybody has one. I stated mine.

Just who is Miley Sirus and why should I care where Obama's wife takes her kids?
The economy is tanking, we're losing more jobs every day, our foreign policy is a disaster, we are losing our freedoms and turning into a Socialist third world country and this is all ABC can find that is newsworthy?
This is a disgraceful excuse for journalism.

LOL, the reason this is newsworthy is to show the Obamas' "lack of concern" about last night's elections and the potential repercussions of them in 2010. Look, we don't care, we're just going to a concert and my husband is watching sports ... la, la, la ... No one believes it, though; everyone knows Obama is sweating and that means his "fashion queen" (ha!) wife of his is too!
I cannot WAIT for 2010!!!

Obama is a slicker talking Sharpton. In other words, all mouth and no substance.
If those that voted him in could just admit that the reason was to vote AGAINST a perceived Bush Old Guard, then I would have much more respect. But to hear them give him pass after pass for his arrogant misdirection of the facts, to hear them continue to wax philosophical on the "historic nature" of this election, just makes me see them as those that will continue to hide their heads in the sand and hope it all gets better when they come back out. Incidentally, that woman who said during the campaign that Barack will put gas in her car, and pay her rent? Yeah she is still on welfare. How's that "Change" workin' for ya? ...
I called Barack Hussein Obama, the "Experience-Free Candidate" and that is indeed what he is. His supporters cannot even be HONEST about his list of accomplishments. They cannot cite them either why? Right .. because they do NOT exist. You cannot argue with the facts. Cite this and that all you want but do it from facts.
Thanks to him, our economy has remained in the tank AFTER the stimulus, my taxes as a business owner are going through the roof, and his foreign policy is an unmitigated disaster.
By the way, did you know that the Guantanamo inmates were authorized their H1N1 vaccines and it was prioritized by the Obama Administration? YES! An appeasement tactic to radical Islam! And there are children in our country whose dose was given away to a terrorist...
So... HOW's that change workin' for ya? Yeah, thats what I thought...

Wow, BO was here in Virginia campaigning for Deeds last week and he told a reporter "I love elections" .... so he did not watch on tv? yeah. right.
This President and this administration is going down quickly. Even the BO voters are getting sick of him.

oh my God. come on....they are as free as anyone else to go to a concert or two, the president and his wife are as much as a couple as any other marriage and they should have date nights without everyone going crazy about it...
they are a normal family...the problem is that people don't want to help solve the problems existent in the country, they want the president to it all by himself and it's not easy. besides, what do you want? and unhappy first family? that would make this crisis even worse...also, the president gets paid to do his job...can't these concerts be paid for out of HIS money? it is possible, so stop being judgemental...you don't let it out against madonna when she goes around with her kids...it's the same thing....

Just how much have I paid in taxes this so the Obama's can show their children a good time?
Now that's Change We Can be Decieved In!

SERIOUSLY????? why is this news worthy? if it was me going to a concert w/ my mom....no one would give a hoot. why does any one care about this...there is sooooooooo much more important things that ARE news worthy going on. Have we really become this boring?

I am a conservative voicing a liberal refrain - "Nothing to see here. Move along."
It is impossible for me not to like the Obama daughters. As much as I disagree with their parents world view, I contend that they should be allowed to raise their children as they see fit. What nut job on either side of the aisle wants to argue that basic point?
I strongly believe that the Obama family represents a very positive familial image for a minority group that needs as much positive family imagery as possible. Disagree with their politics all you want, this is family stuff and should be hands off. "Nothing to see here. Move along."
Posted by: Honest Abe | Nov 4, 2009 3:13:12 PM
Gee why is everyone still crying racism? If anything it was the whites who put him into the white house!
Posted by: casey | Nov 4, 2009 3:07:10 PM
Seriously? I am a conservative like a lot of you, not a Barack fan, but come on! They are little girls who went to a concert with their mom! It isn't their fault their dad is the president and the economy is bad. These girls will have to grow up with the country scrutinizing their every move. (remember poor Chelsea Clinton, and the Bush girls?) They should get to enjoy a few perks if they also have to deal with the crap that goes along with it.
The Obamas shouldn't do any more grand date nights, I agree. But these are kids, and it is not that out of the norm for a teenage girl to go to a concert.
