VP Biden Helps Serve Food to Homeless in Washington – “Sometimes you forget that this is real”
November 14, 2009 12:25 AM
Vice President Biden made a surprise visit to a homeless shelter in Washington DC on Friday to help serve lunch to dozens of homeless men.
Biden dropped by the Father McKenna Center, a homeless shelter a few blocks away from the U.S. Capitol building that serves around 100 men during the day. It also offers counseling for substance abuse and an HIV/AIDS initiative.
Dressed casually in a black baseball cap, sweater and khakis, Biden put on rubber gloves and an apron to help distribute fish sticks.
Biden said he was there because “"you've got to remind yourself that but for the grace of God there goes I.”
“Sometimes you forget that this is real,” he said.
The vice president said he does this back home in Wilmington and wanted to make the impromptu stop without raising a lot of attention.
"I wanted to do this. I asked where I could do this without a lot of fanfare and they told me I could do it here,” he said.
A Biden spokeswoman said the vice president and his family keep an active service schedule during the holiday season, stuffing stockings for soldiers and serving the homeless.

Obama's job deficit hits 7.7 million as he has promised to create 3.5 million jobs by the end of 2010. He better get moving. That's a lot of jobs to create in 14 months.
Some benchmarks for the unaware:
January '09 - 135.1 million jobs
February '09 - Stimulus passed
October '09 - 130.8 million jobs
December '10 - 138.6 million jobs
Job Deficit as of Oct '09 - 7.7 million jobs

It's only right that Biden should serve the people who have lost their jobs and homes due to this administration's policies.

Hahahah . . . the economy was in virtual free-fall collapse when Biden took over, 700,000 jobs were being lost in a month, the stock market had crashed, bankruptcies and foreclosures were through the roof - are you really uninformed enough to blame this on Biden and company?

It's only right that Biden should serve the people who have lost their jobs and homes due to this administration's policies. Ironic that Joe can't put two and two together.

food serves either by a long time volunteer or King Pete Botha will taste the same (with all the down ratings)
what SOME (forced) of this people (human beings) want the same freedom (financial and non financial) and opportunities available to Biden and his kids. A least a handful of them are much skilled and qualified than Biden and his kids. Who knows? just remove from this list of political tools and give the same equal opportunity as human beings, be a great and impartial judge
Sincerely

Yep, and we are about to have many more homeless thanks to the incompetence in DC from folks like Dodd, Biden, Pelosi, McCain, etc. I am looking to Ron Paul for guidance out of this. Too bad so much of America is looking to the same corrupt lawmakers.

Hey, Joe, did you ask the homeless how well the era of "Hope and Change" is working out for them? Would love to see those responses on video, not that the mainstream media would ever air them.

Yes you in Washington have a total disconnect from reality and the effects
of your lame policies.

Once a year thing and they will again be forgotten by Biden and these politicans as they continue to raise taxes and spend which hurts the poor the most. What they need are jobs dummy so they can take care of themselves.

Why don't they try the terrorists in D.C.? Oh, I forgot. Obama/Biden live there.

make you a wager.... more terrorists/war criminals will be tried and convicted during Obama' s first 4 years than in all of Bush/Cheney's 8 long years of dereliction of duty.

Oh shut up emanuel!!!!!

Most of this country's homeless population are smarter than Biden!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

@Janet, you should check your "facts" before making bold claims. Biden and his wife have both been volunteering for charities for years, they also give at their church. Biden also has given thousands in speaking honoraria (like talk show appearances) to charity without putting it on his taxes (he asks them to donate the money instead of accepting it). Jill Biden has run a breast cancer charity for almost 20 years. Joe also gives speaches for and otherwise lends himself to many charities for free. IMO As far as charity goes, time is just as valuable as money. But he doesn't make a big deal out of it, or go out of his way for photo ops because he is actually an OK guy. He makes less money than almost any Senator because his family is devoted to these things and not the private sector, he doesn't need to buy a facade of compassion, he has it.

Guess I won't be vacationing in NYC any time soon. Wonder how many other tourists will stay away from the Big Apple while the big terrorist trials are going on? Another gift to NYC from a grateful POTUS.

Is the same Biden who donated almost ZERO to charity before he became VP?
Posted by: Janet | Nov 14, 2009 1:14:12 AM
New Yorkers overwhelmingly vote for Obama/Biden, and they pay New Yorkers back by trying war criminals and terrorists in NYC so they can satisfy their looney left-wing base. Hee. Hee, Hee. I'm loving it!!!!!

i can be the first to criticize Joe Biden but the fact that there is no photo attached or video tells me Joe Biden is a stand up guy. Here's to you, Joe, from an administration critic. Thank you!
