Giuliani Goes Federal
November 21, 2006 4:46 PM
ABC News' Tahman Bradley and David Chalian Report: Former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani (R-NY) quietly took another step today toward seeking the Republican nomination for president in 2008. Giuliani filed a statement of organization with the Federal Election Commission setting up a presidential exploratory committee, according to an FEC source.
The move, which clears the way for Giuliani to begin organizing as he continues to mull over a presidential bid, comes less than two weeks after he first established an exploratory committee in the state of New York and convened a team of potential fundraisers at a midtown Manhattan restaurant to discuss the financial viability of such a run.
Giuliani now officially enters the Republican "testing the waters" field with Sen. John McCain (R-AZ), who filed with the FEC last Thursday. On the Democratic side, Gov. Tom Vilsack (D-IA) has filed the paperwork and plans a five-state announcement tour swing next week.
"This is something that gets done by candidates looking at potential runs," said one senior Giuliani adviser to ABC News. "It's crossing the 't' in exploratory."

GO RUDY, RUN! I can't think of a better candidate - or a happier alternative to Hillary!

Giuliani is NUTS if he thinks he can run for the presidency without reprisal for his past actions. Too many people know the truth about his role in the death of the 130 NYFD crew members ON 9/11/01. The days when members of the GOP could step on others without fear of reprisal are OVER. I'll be one of many screaming for him to step aside if he continues to pursue the 2008 presidency. SCUM.

Giuliani for President! Absolutely! He will WIN BIG! He is Our Hero, he refused a million dollars from a Sheik that made a statement that said we were foolish to have let our guard down, not exact words but sums up to that! I respected him for that and his human emotions and his dedication to the victims and victims when those terrorist flew into the WTC. But, he must admit to the pubic and repent of past sin against his ex-wife. He must be a reBaptized Christian and acknowledge God Almighty, Our Lord Jesus, always ask for God's direction in all decisions concerning our Country, and stand by Israel at all costs! Let God direct him and he will prove to be a great leader.
