Iraq War's Toll Continues to Mount
November 07, 2006 1:21 PM
ABC News' Jonathan Greenberger reports: In the last 24 hours alone, the Pentagon has released the names of 10 service members killed in Iraq and Afghanistan (an unusually high number for a 24 hour period). All but two of the ten deaths are either from competitive House districts or adjacent to such districts. The ten deaths occurred some time between Oct. 31 and Nov. 5. All press releases went out yesterday or this morning.

Casualties from a week ago just being reported. Must be a democratic ruse to make the repubs look bad.

Strange. Would you also think the Dems were to blame for this Iraq mess at all? It's not a political thing, it's a thing of control by a few who determine what new wars will keep defene spending growing, and the people poorer and more subdued. When in Cambodia, millions with the slightest education were being murdered, not one US Soldier was sent to help. The same in every country without Oil and without a means for making 'war-money' for the defence industry. Pres. Ike warned us in his last televised speech, that a huge defence industry unchecked could exert overt control and influence to 'create wars' to make billions more. Our fellow patriots, thousands, are now dead, and 10s of thousands more permanently and seriously injured. From Europe to most other countries, trade treaties are being signed that 'exclude America' entirely. Everyone is tired of War, particularly for money. The US has no more right to invade countries it does like, anymore than Germany did. Or to be 'selective to only rich oil countries' when we think of doing war. Today, we are less safe, our allies are less supportive or trusting of America, our US Dollar is weakening yearly, we are the only western 'total debt' nation both for majority individual Americans and as a national government, we have already lost several key trade-export opportunities, and all while we american's have nice Cars that get worst mileage than a 1949 Ford!... and we've lost liberties, peace, financial independence and security. All so a few trillionaires can destroy our jobs, and our freedoms for Money & Control... I'm glad many of us are finally voting to end the USA image as War-Whore, Top Polluter amongst nations, and Financially & Morally bankrupt internally and externally. Can we be again.. by, of and for ALL the people?; and not for a Corporate-image of fraud, bolden lies, deceptions, and failure. The powerful who control USA politics and media, hate american families, and american workers. And love MONEY alone. May we simply not tell the world that as voters, we're going to accept 'mediocure policies on environment', and 'plan war to make money' anymore. We are in more financial trouble as individuals, and as a nation, than any other major country on earth. And we're too busy with our new cars, low-interest home-loans, and perscription-drug induced dependence; to be mentally alert enough to see the plain MESS we're in, and those who put and keep us there. My prediction, SADLY, is that in a few years banks will fail without any Federal funding to save them adiquately, Home values will plumet below 1970 values, and no one in the world...including Europe, will want to listen and help when our national and individual financial debts mount without hope. The streets will be filled with riots....and only a few American patriots of every race, creed and culture...will try to re-unite us again with at last encourage, peace, and a return to fiscal responsibility as families, corporately, and as people-governance on local to federal levels. We need to remember what we lost with Camilot, and never again allow 'dirty secrets' to keep us from truth, liberty, and the individual pursuit of happiness, security and equitable wealth. America, the WORLD and every individual with a Dream of Liberty and personal Prosperitity...used to look at us as the LEADER of individual freedom, liberty, privacy, and a nation that HELPS nations and not lies to them and betrays UN charters. Today, if only we'd travel abroad...we'd find a very different viewpoint...one where people look at the US as a place of few personal liberties or privacies, far fewer opportunities for a family-run shop or business, and a national image of 'law breaker and nation-invader'. A place where money and Billionaires are KING. Let us enjoy freedom not as a word used by politicians..who then sign new laws to limit our freedoms....but as something like FREEDOM from personal dependence on perscription drugs, selfish indulgence for today's cars in sacrifice to tomorrows individual financial independence and freedom. We must wake up, because the world is passing us by. Each month....new trade agreements excluding America entirely...are signed between nations of the world. And we all site...Supified in our narrow-minded lives...and can't see what we've lost...and just how Wealthy in Moral and Financial terms of liberty, independence and Unity as a good-nation...we've missed. You don't know, my fellow citizens, what you've lost..because you've not had it for decades!... If you knew, you'd change things. And become a proud America of Liberty, Independence, Cooperation, and real financial Freedom again! signed...a wig-Republican.

Whig-Republican, I just saved your comment as "November '07 Briefing on US Reality" and I now have new-found respect for republicans. Thanks.

Epiphany: Use tough love to stop addiction to war profits.
Time to break this administration's addiction to war.
The cost of war is destroying the United States of America.
Use "tough LOVE". Firmly, lovingly, say, "No." to the whining tantrums begging for more war.
Make war illegal.
Acts of war are crimes against humanity.
Do not honor aggressors by declaring war or those criminals claim legitimate warrior hero status.
Put the war machine into rehab. Grant war profiteers enough to change their industry to profit from providing for humanity. Then they will not need to sell us any more dirty wars.
