ABC News' Dean Norland reports: Leaving her Georgetown apartment building this rainy Wednesday morning, soon-to-be Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi says, "I feel great! We just picked up some more seats in Iowa and California."

Pelosi laughed when handed a copy of today's Washington Post with the banner headline: "Democrats Take House".  She says she always expected to see the headline, but that she's "still in campaign mode while results are coming in".

Pelosi also commented on the phone call she received from President Bush this morning stating: "We talked about working together for the entire country.  I look forward to it."

Pelosi and her deputy, Democratic Whip Rep. Steny Hoyer (D-MD), will lunch with the President on Thursday at the White House.  Republican leaders of the House and Senate are expected to join President Bush for breakfast on Thursday morning.

Pelosi and her croonies make me sick. I truly perhaps that she 'chokes' really really hard on her sick win.

I hope Bush doesn't think because Pelosi is a woman that he can sway her. He has no alternative but come back down to earth, since the
Democrats have won both House and Senate(he should't wonder why his party no longer has a majority in either house). He will learn the hard way before his term is over. She will not permit him to run roughshod over the American people now that she is Majority Leader. Bush wants everything bipartisan, when he's facing other than his own party. Let's hope he has the maturity to cope because Ms. Pelosi will handle it all honestly, though Bush doesn't have any creditility himself.
