White House Confident Bush Travel Has Made Impact
November 06, 2006 4:00 PM
ABC News' Karen Travers reports: With President Bush hitting three red states on his last day of campaigning before Election Day, the White House feels that the President has made an impact in shifting voters’ minds with his final campaign swing.
“There are a lot of people who have been leaning Democrat going into the undecided camp, and people in the undecided camp moving into the Republican camp,” Press Secretary Tony Snow said today.
Snow continued: “This is not simply an effort to talk to Republican voters, but also Democrats and undecideds who might be inclined to agree with the President, especially on the war on terror, but also on the future of the economy.”
Snow used Indiana's 9th District as an example, saying that incumbent Rep. Mike Sodrel (R-IN) has seen a big swing in support since the President was there on Oct. 28.
“When the President comes to town, people listen in a way that they don't always listen. And it allows him to get his message directly to Republican activists, to undecided voters,” Snow said.
Bush has hit 10 states in the final five days of the campaign – all states he won in 2004.
Snow said the White House is “not surprised” about polling showing the Republicans making gains over the last few days.
“We've been talking about the fact as Election Day nears, people will sit back and start making sober assessments of the two parties' key positions on the basic issues,” he said.
No dice from Snow on the potential of waking up to a Democratic Congress on Wednesday.
Asked how the President would be able to work with Speaker Nancy Pelosi, should that pan out, Snow said: “Nice try. You can ask questions about the House Speaker on Wednesday.”
“How many times do I have to tell you guys, you don't sit around in the middle of a campaign and say, what if we lose? You don't. You just don't waste your time doing that,” Snow said.

Air Force One apparently spews out pixie dust as it flies over the Midwest...which magically turns independent undecided voters into rabid Republicans...sounds more like a George Romero movie than a campaign (one bite...and you are turned). Bush has been giving red meat speeches to smaller crowds of Republican activists in a further attempt to energize the base...has nothing to do with undecided or leaning voters...all they want to do is give the illusion of movement and dominate the news cycles to try to surpress Democratic turnout...we're wise to your games, Karl! At any rate, when the Democratic House convenes, it will be interesting if he have the "New Bush" (ala the New Nixon) who will be back to his "I'm a uniter" speech and they will drag out all the hoary old stories about the golden days of bi-partisanship as Gov. of Texas. As they say in my neck of the woods (Calif.), "That Volvo won't hunt".

I defy anyone, ANYONE to show me a person who is not a GOP that agrees with bush and his policy on Iraq, or any other issue.
I'm waiting...
Yep, thats what I thought.
More lies by lying liars in the GOP.

Bush Travel make an impact? That is questionable remark. Crist who is running as a republican candidate in Florida refuse to show himself together with BUSH. That action is pathetic to BUSH. Maybe the impact provide by BUSH helping his candidate is negative rather than a positive impact.
