ABC News' Ann Compton and Jessica Yellin Report: The White House has still not set a precise date for the President's address on the way forward in Iraq.  In a whirlwind of consultations towards making his policy decision, the President will next week be making the unusual gesture of traveling to the Pentagon and State Department where Iraq reviews have been underway.

On Monday, Bush will meet with senior officials at the State Department about Iraq, and back at the Oval Office with (still unnamed) outside experts getting their take on the way forward.

On Tuesday, Bush will participate in a video teleconference with senior commanders on the ground, and on Wednesday with senior Defense Dept officials at the Pentagon.

The President will not make his statement to the American people till he consults with these advisors.

Deputy White House Press Secretary Dana Perino says President Bush is taking an appropriate amount of time to digest the Iraq Study Group's conclusions.

President Bush also met this morning with Democratic and Republican leadership of Congress and discussed the need for a new way forward in Iraq and the important of working together.  He thanked them for a "constructive conversation" but did not mention the Baker-Hamilton report.

The President emphasized an open door policy with the 110th Congress, and thanked outgoing Majority Leader Frist and Speaker Hastert for their service.
