Sen. Johnson Said To Be In 'Critical, But Stable Condition'
December 18, 2006 12:47 PM
ABC News' Zach Wolfe Reports: South Dakota Senator Tim Johnson is said to be making process on his road to recovering from bleeding in his brain.
A spokeswoman for Senator Tim Johnson says of his status after the weekend:
"The Senator made it through the first 72 hours and we consider this positive. The next week or so will be our next target timeline. He is resting and remains in critical, but stable condition. He is still sedated."
The narrow Democratic-controlled Senate convenes January 4, 2007 and will likely be without Johnson who serves on the Senate Appropriations Committee, Senate Budge Committee, Senate Banking Committee, Senate Energy and Natural Resources Committee and the Senate Indian Affairs Committee.
