Disgraced Congressman Gets 30 Months in Jail
January 19, 2007 10:10 AM
ABC News' Jennifer Duck Reports: Former Congressman Bob Ney (R-Ohio) has been sentenced to 30 months in jail for his dealings with disgraced super lobbyist Jack Abramoff.Ney will serve his time in a facility in Morgantown, West Virginia where he will also be enrolled in an alcohol abuse program.
Ney was one of the poster boys for the Democrats last election cycle when they campaigned on a Republican "culture of corruption" due to his illegal dealings with Abramoff.
Ney's Ohio congressional seat was one of the 30 seats that flipped from Republican to Democrat in November, helping launch the Democrats into the majority.
