Senate Confirms Petraeus
January 26, 2007 10:11 AM
ABC News' Z. Byron Wolf Reports: The Senate has unanimously confirmed Lt. General David Petraeus as a four-star General and posted him as commander of Multi-National Forces in Iraq. Petraeus previously led the training of Iraqi Army and security forces and most recently rewrote the Army and Marine Corps' field manual. He'll be in charge of implementing President Bush's strategy to surge an additional 21,500 troops into Iraq, aimed at providing more security for reconstruction efforts.
