Carter Blasts Cheney's "Abysmally Low" Iraq Record

ABC News' George Stephanopoulos Reports: In an exclusive interview with former President Jimmy Carter set to air on Sunday's "This Week with George Stephanopoulos", Carter rebuffed Vice President Dick Cheney for his recent criticism of Congressional efforts to oppose the President's Iraq strategy.
The former President said the Vice President's "batting average" on Iraq is "abysmally low" telling ABC News, "He hasn't been right on hardly anything, in his prediction of what was going to happen; reasons for us going over there; the status of the situation to have a good result. So he's been almost completely wrong on just about everything he's said. And obviously, this is not playing into the hands of al Qaeda or the people who are causing violence and destruction over there, to call for a change in policy in Iraq.

STEPHANOPOULOS: Vice President Cheney, this week, has been very harsh on those kinds of measures in the Congress. He says it would validate the Al Qaida strategy.

Looks like, by reading most of the comments, Cheney never reads newspapers. What does he read in his toilet? Who knows. This fellow is less stupid, more a rascal, I guess.

Mr. Patterson has hit the core issue dead center. We will have to address the Israeli expansionism if there is ever to be peace in the middle east or security elsewhere. And until the comments he offers here can be published in any (even one) mainstream newspaper in this country, freedom of the press is just a fond memory.
