Clinton talks Iraq vote on NH campaign trail
February 10, 2007 1:20 PM
ABCNews' Eloise Harper Reports: As she kicked off her New Hampshire campaign tour, Senator Hillary Clinton. D-NY, addressed her 2002 vote to authorize the use of armed forces in Iraq. "Knowing what I know now, I would never have voted for the war. I have taken responsibility for my vote." said Clinton, to a crowd of about 150 people in Berlin, New Hampshire. "The mistake was by this President who misled the Congress."
Clinton also said that if the war not over by 2009, she would bring it to an end.
Not all the questions focused on Iraq. Clinton warmly remembered her visits to New Hampshire on the campaign trail with former President Bill Clinton. "I'm going to try not to do so many Dunkin' Donuts stops as my husband," Clinton said.
Questions at the end of her one hour conversation with New Hampshire voters came back to the topic of the war. Clinton again pointed a finger at the Administration. "If you have been so obsessed with taking us to war, why have they been so incompetent at carrying it out."
