Al Gore Takes the Hill
February 05, 2007 3:23 PM
ABC News' Matthew Zavala Reports: Former Vice President and 2007 Nobel Peace Prize nominee Al Gore plans to seize the political spotlight next month when he testifies before both House and Senate committees on the issue of global warming which will no doubt fuel (yet again) a slew of stories about a possible Gore presidential candidacy -- a concept which Gore has so far refused to completely and totally reject.
Gore plans to testify before Rep. John Dingell's, D-Mich., House Committee on Energy and Commerce and the Senate Committee on Environment and Public works on March 21. On the Senate side he'll face questions from his former running mate, Sen. Joe Lieberman, D-Conn., and his former boss' wife, Sen. Hillary Clinton, D-N.Y., who both sit on the committee.
Gore was also recently named a nominee for an Academy Award for Best Documentary. Should Gore win an Oscar, it is unclear as to whether or not he will bring the statue with him to help drive his point home.
