Joe Lieberman: Will He or Won't He? Probably Not

ABC News' Z. Byron Wolf reports: While the website Politico.com has the blaring, saucy, and eye-catching headline "Breaking News: Lieberman says war vote could prompt party switch," the statement by Lieberman that he won't rule out a party switch does not signify that he is packing his bags and heading across the aisle in the Senate.

A Lieberman staffer told ABC today, "Lieberman's words speak for themselves. It is a very remote possibility. Senator Lieberman has no desire to change parties. He has no desire to change parties." (repetition theirs).

Not making a "Sherman statement" (as Al Gore would say in also not closing the door on his unlikely 2008 Presidential run) is not a new tactic for Lieberman. He told Time Russert on "Meet the Press" back in November after the mid-term election that he wouldn't rule out changing parties as Vermont Republican Jim Jeffords had done in 2001 when he became an Independent, temporarily giving Democrats control of the Senate.

Why does he have to pack his bags -- he obviously has been with the other party, but say he is caucusing with the Dems -- which he did for the votes -- declaring to be independent, and taking a lot of votes from both parties. He and McCain are obviously very chummy and Cheney thinks the world of him.

As someone who has lived and voted in Connecticut for many years Lieberman has been talking out of the Right side of his mouth for a while now.

Be my guest Lieberman. I would hope the people of his state, would have the brains to petition for a new election and throw his right wing butt out of office. He is a two face loser anyhow.

It all has gotten so silly so early .. . we've gone, or better people like ABC, CBS and for sure NBC have gone "ga.ga" for Obama. He is about as arrogant as they come, but too many people are afraid to even say that. Joe Liberman, go for it man, make them as mad as hell.....
