ABC News' Karen Travers Reports: Vice President Cheney was treated today by his doctor at the George Washington University Medical Faculty Associates for mild calf discomfort in his left leg. An ultrasound revealed a blood clot and he will be treated with blood thinning medication for the next several months.

A statement from Cheney's office said that Cheney has since returned to work at the White House and has resumed his schedule.

Cheney has had four heart attacks, all before taking office in 2001. The last heart attack occurred just after the election in 2000 - on Nov. 30, 2000. On June 30, 2001 he had an implantable cardioverter defibrillator (ICD/pacemaker) installed.

Cheney had his last physical on July 1, 2006 and doctors found that his cardiac status remains stable, his ICD was functioning properly and had not detected any arrythmia.

Cheney had a health scare on Jan. 9, 2006 after experiencing shortness of breath due to anti-inflammatories he was taking for a foot injury. He had knee surgery on both knees on Sept. 24, 2005.

Couldn't he have gone to Walter Reed to show solidarity with the veterans...even though he isn't one?

I'M SORRY THE DOCTORS ARE ONLY HALF RIGHT, CAUSE I'VE BEEN THERE DONE THAT. THE BLOOD CLOT THING CAN CAUSE YOU TO HAVE TO TAKE WARFAIRN THE REST OF YOUR LIFE. I HAD DVT IN MY LEFT LEG, WENT THROUGH MY LUNGS, HEART AND BRAIN. NOW I LIVE WITH TAKING WARFAIRN EVERY DAY FOR THE REST OF MY LIVE. IT'S NO BIG DEAL REALLY, YOU JUST HAVE TO TAKE IT EVERY DAY SO ANOTHER ONE DOESN'T FORM. YES IT IS SERIOUS, YOU CAN DIE FROM IT, I ALMOST DID!

What??? Walter Reed hospital isn't good enough for Dick Cheney? I'm astounded...

Marie, you had to take warfarin because your clot embolized. Cheney's clot, while still of concern, is below the knee, which is much less likely to travel. Unless something changes he can be managed on lovenox for about 6 months and then come off meds.

Walter Reed is only for military veterans. Five deferments do not count.

I've just been letting everything pass me by. Shrug. Basically not much notable going on lately.

I haven't been up to anything. That's how it is. Not much on my mind right now. I can't be bothered with anything recently, not that it matters. It's not important.
