ABC News' Matthew Zavala Reports: In a Wednesday appearance at The International Association of Fire Fighters' candidate forum, Sen. Chris Dodd, D-Conn., presented himself as a candidate who has already proven that he is a strong advocate for the nation's firefighters and organized workers. To large applause, Dodd thundered, "I'm proud to say, over 32 years I have stood with unions."

The presidential hopeful accused the Bush administration of being unfair to union workers. "We have an administration that seems to determined to undermine at every turn basic worker's rights in this country. Overtime pay, the right to collective bargaining, attacking public workers who we charge with some of the nation's most important responsibilities," he said.

Dodd pledged to protect the rights of workers to enter into collective bargaining agreements. "Collective bargaining is far as I'm concerned is one of the most fundamental rights that Americans have" said Dodd.
