Giuliani Responds to 'Don't Ask, Don't Tell'
March 13, 2007 5:06 PM
ABC News' Jan Simmonds Reports: "We're at war and now isn't the time to question our military's admissions policy."
That is how former New York City Mayor and Republican presidential hopeful Rudy Giuliani responded to the comments made by Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Gen. Peter Pace on the "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" policy.
In the statement his campaign released to ABC News, Mr. Giuliani chose not to respond to Pace's personal point of view that homosexuality is "immoral."
Some conservatives have expressed a sense of unease about Giuliani's aspirations to be the Republican nominee because of his pro-gay rights positions.
By choosing to keep his comments solely on how a change in policy would effect the war on terror, Giuliani was able to sidestep a subject he will have to handle carefully in the coming weeks and months of the campaign.

um, excuse me ABC, but we already know this guy is a big fat phoney, thus he should not be considered newsworthy (except for Fox news which we all know will cover anything).
This would be the time to jump off the Giuliani bandwagon, cause one wheel is already broken and it's heading straight for Breakneck Pass.
I swear if this guy even makes it to the RNC, I will sell my hot dog stand that same day and move to China.

Guliani wasn't born yesterday...He's very shrewd.
However, in rebuttal, there's always a "crisis" and never "time" to discuss this divisive issue.
I was in the military, served in the Persian Gulf twice under George and George, and didn't have problem serving alongside those of different sexual orientation--provided they can fire a weapon accurately. However, I did see suspected gays threatened on ship back in the early 90s. What was funny was that the Navy had some type of special survey team come to ships to gather our opinions on gays. Dick Cheney may have been SECDEF then. Anyway, what stood out in my mind was that there is NO confidentiality on ship and everybody knows it. The people who dreamed up the survey wanted us to tell them what they wanted to hear, so they formulated the perfect "controlled environment."

Enjoy your trip to Beijing and don't look back, please. I'll gladly take Giuliani over the frauds and criminals that have been running, or should I say ruining, this country over the last 6 years!
