Gonzales Lunching With GOP Sens
March 21, 2007 5:17 PM
ABC's Jonathan Karl reports: Embattled Attorney General met this afternoon with several Republican Senators, including Orrin Hatch, Jon Kyl, John Cornyn and Jeff Sessions, GOP sources said.
The lunch meeting held at the Department of Justice, sources said, was initiated by Gonzales. A source familiar with the meeting says it was an attempt by Gonzales to reach out to Republicans who have been decidedly unhappy with how he has handled the US Attorney mess.
The meeting comes as a House panel voted today to authorize the subpoenas of several White House aides in the investigation of the US Attorney firings and the Senate is scheduled to vote on such authorization tomorrow. LINK

Was Gonzales on the menu?
I can picture them all bemoaning the days when the Republican Congress was able to give the Bush Administration a free ride on oversight of any kind. It must be so painful having to be held accountable for lying in an administration so couurpt and dishonest that the test of lying for anyone in that administration is their lips are moving.

Do we know the full list of senators? If so, who are they?

Nope, nothing political about the firings. The Dems just had other lunch plans...

As Attorney General, He should be lunching with both parties. He represents all the people in the country. Not just one party.Has he forgotten who is in control, in Congress?
