"Hillary 1984"
March 19, 2007 5:35 AM
ABC's Jake Whitman Reports: An unauthorized Internet ad for Barack Obama is the latest sensation on YouTube. The attack ad is a clever remix of the classic "1984" ad that introduced Apple computers during the '84 Super Bowl.
The original ad created by director Ridley Scott depicted a Big Brother figure speaking to a mass of zombie like followers on a large television screen.
The new spot replaces the speaker with clips of Hillary Clinton speaking. Like the original, a woman smashes the giant screen with a sledgehammer.
The spot ends with the tagline, "On Jan. 14, the Democratic primary will begin. And you'll see why 2008 won't be like 1984."
The ad's creator appears to be a mystery. The San Francisco Chronicle reports that the Obama campaign claims it had nothing to do with the video.
As of Monday morning, YouTube reported the video had been viewed 206,439 times.

In a desperate grasp to win the nomination Dems will stir up and offer over on a plate all the ammunition the Pubs could ever want.
Let's realize early who really has 'IT' and cut out the unauthorized/unsanctioned/mystery/surprise/unsponsored/uncalled for attack ads.
Remind people why to vote FOR you not AGAINST someone else, which is a sorry reason to vote at all. The job is to send packing this bunch of moralizing, greedy, dishonest, vile, unreligious frauds to whence they came, never to darken our doorsteps again; the job is not to do each other in and leave those hypocrites and judges to sweep clean the mess so they can waltz into office for another eternity.

If I were Obama I would be out there in full shout today denouncing this. I think it does him a lot of harm.

Is Obama is going to sling all his mud through segregates? It's smoke-and-mirrors with him.

It's more of the same...dirty politics. If this continues the two of them will take each other out of the race. Fine by me.

This Hillary 1984 video is getting way overhyped. There are important issues out there more important than
clever little internet ad campaigns with no real message, especially one that isn’t even original.
