Tancredo to Make Major Announcement
March 30, 2007 3:29 PM
ABC News' Matthew Zavala Reports: Rep. Tom Tancredo, R-Colo., is going to take his message to Iowa radio on Monday morning to make a "major announcement" according to his staff.
The self-described long-shot candidate's exploratory committee announced last week that his campaign has raised in excess of $1 million. Tancredo will speak around 10 am ET on the "Mickelson in the Morning" talk show on 1040 AM out of Des Moines, IA.
Tancredo's small war chest could be only a drop in the bucket compared to what his opponents, Democrat or Republican, hauled in this first quarter which for the frontrunners, could easily exceed $20 million. The filing deadline for fundraising is due March 31.
The outspoken critic of illegal immigration who is known for his controversial stances has been making several appearances in Iowa garnering support. Last week, his campaign announced that Bay Buchanan would spearhead his bid for the White House.
