White House Press Corps: Snow a 'Fighter'
March 27, 2007 12:19 PM
ABC News' Jon Garcia Reports: With the news that White House Press Secretary Tony Snow has a recurrence of cancer, the people who grill him daily at briefings are expressing their well-wishes.
"On behalf of the White House press corps, our thoughts and prayers are with Tony Snow and his family," read a statement released today by The White House Correspondents Association, which negotiates on behalf of the journalists who cover the president in dealing with access and work space issues.
The Association also hosts an annual dinner, best known for bringing politicians, stars and journalists together.
Snow, a former journalist himself, has been well-liked by many of the journalists who cover the White House.
"Throughout his entire life, Tony has been a fighter for the issues he believes in the most," the statement read. "For the past year, he has brought his friendly manner, firm convictions and professionalism to the White House briefing room."
Appointed in April 2006 by President Bush to replace former White House Press Secretary Scott McClellan, Snow hosted a Fox News Sunday program for many years, and was a columnist and editorial writer before that.
"Tony Snow has proven that you can beat back the cancer odds, and we know he will do so again," read the statement. "Get well! We already have pages of questions for you to answer, so hurry back."

Tony, everyday you fight for the White House, now you must fight for yourself. God Bless you.

My favorite time was when I saw Tony Snow on TV and playing the flute. He's my kind of man...if I could take back the single days I'd be flirting with him. Liz (age 63 in Naples, FL)
