DeLay: indicting me is like the Holocaust

ABCNews' Jake Tapper Reports:  In his new book "No Retreat, No Surrender," former House Majority Leader Tom DeLay, R-Texas, compares liberals to Adolf Hitler.

"I believe it was Adolf Hitler who first acknowledged that the big lie is more effective than the little lie, because the big lie is so audacious, such an astonishing immorality, that people have a hard time believing anyone would say it if it wasn’t true. You know, the big lie — like the Holocaust never happened or dark-skinned people are less intelligent than light-skinned people. Well, by charging this big lie” — that DeLay broke campaign finance laws — “liberals have finally joined the ranks of scoundrels like Hitler."

This week in a radio interview on WERS in Boston, DeLay was asked about this, and not only did he stand by his comparison, he amplified it, comparing his prosecution to the Holocaust.

"I am so outraged by this whole criminalization of politics," DeLay said. "It’s not good enough to defeat somebody politically. It’s not even good enough to vilify somebody publicly. They have to carpet bomb you with lies and made up scandals and false charges and indicting you on laws that don’t exist. ...It’s the same thing as I say in my book, that the Nazis used. When you use the 'Big Lie' in order to gain and maintain power, it is immoral and it is outrageous…

"It’s the same process. It’s the same criminalization of politics. It’s the same oppression of people. It’s the same destroy people in order to gain power. It may be six million Jews, it may be indicting somebody on laws that don’t exist. But, it’s the same philosophy and it’s the same world view."

What insensitive, self-indulgent filth. Temper tantrums: how perfectly becoming, Mr. DeLay. Good riddance.

Gee, I wonder how many copies of his book have been sold...I look forward to seeing it on a dusty remainder table in the near future. Karma is a bitch. Thank God I won't have to hear from this guy and his false morality anymore...he can fade into the obscurity which he so richly deserves.

All I have to say is, thank God this buffoon doesn't have power anymore.

Let me get the math here straight.

1 Delay = 6 million Jews.

Someone PLEASE slap him.

Tom DeLay needs to apologize for comparing his legal troubles to the suffering the Jews faced under Nazi persecution.

Wahhhhh! Don't cry over your own injustices, after being a scoundral for so long. You, like Bush give Texas a bad rap. "Crook"

How completely disturbing. This man was a high ranking government official for years and he is obviously a sociopath. He is completely unable to accept responsibility for his own actions. I hope they throw the book at him.

This is a sad sad man. Like a criminal...lashing out as he goes down in flames.

“If you tell a lie big enough and keep repeating it, people will eventually come to believe it. The lie can be maintained only for such time as the State can shield the people from the political, economic and/or military consequences of the lie. It thus becomes vitally important for the State to use all of its powers to repress dissent, for the truth is the mortal enemy of the lie, and thus by extension, the truth is the greatest enemy of the State.”

Joeseph Goebbles

The man can't even keep his subject skewing quotes straight. Of course the state isn't shielding him anymore.

Mr Delay, can you please
juys go off into the sunset
so we in Texas can get our state back? this state comprises of
a vast majority of diverse peoples, and quite frankly what you and your tieves orchestrated by re drawing the voting boundaries to maximise Repugnitant, (Republican) representation
was nothing less than criminal.
i hope your next roomate is
someone from Enron.

This description would be laughable if it wasn't so sickening. For DeLay to compare his situation to Hitler & Nazi Germany shows how twisted politicians are. The framers of the constitution never intended for there to be career politicians (citizen politicans-hello!) and it is beacause of this very reason-absolute power corrupts. The end result is this type of smut rolling off the lips of DeLay. He had no problem branding Democrats with a board brush during his time in power, but when the shoe is on the other foot he is suddenly Mr. Righteous. I for one am tired of the 2 party duopoly-when will 'we' as Americans look towards 3rd parties candidacies as alternative to more of the same "politics as usual" I AM FED UP! DeLay is full of it and deserves all that comes his way. How dare he!

It's just another LOONY from the Republican Party. After all of "God knows what" illegal, unethical and dishonest deals and maneuvers he done, the former "MR. HAMMER" now plays the victim's role complaining about his alleged unfair prosecution. People like Delay needs to learn and understand the phrase "Live by the sword, die by the Sword". He has already LIVE. Now he just need to check in a mental institution and DIE.

I think this Delay guy has finally totally lost it. Wow! He has more nerve than brains, that's for sure.

This is from a leader of the Party that used the "Big Lie" to invade Iraq. Why did he resign if it was such a "Big Lie." Sounds like a "Liberal Conspiracy."
