Iacocca Bashes Bush in New Book

ABC News' Jake Tapper reports: Twenty-three years after his best-selling and influential book "Iacocca: An Autobiography," former Chrysler CEO Lee Iacocca hits the bookshelves again Tuesday with "Where Have All the Leaders Gone?"

"We've got a gang of clueless bozos steering our ship of state right over a cliff, we've got corporate gangsters stealing us blind, and we can't even clean up after a hurricane much less build a hybrid car," Iacocca, 82, writes in his inimitable subtle prose. "But instead of getting mad, everyone sits around and nods their heads when the politicians say, 'Stay the course.'"

The legendary, if less relevant, business leader had a close relationship with President Reagan in the 1980s, and endorsed then-Gov. George W. Bush for president in 2000. But he switched to Sen. John Kerry, D-Mass., in 2004, and his latest book lambastes the current administration.

"Thanks to our first MBA President, we've got the largest deficit in history, Social Security is on life support, and we've run up a half-a-trillion-dollar price tag (so far) in Iraq," Iacocca writes. "And that's just for starters."

Incredible that Lee has to even point out the obviousness of this Admin. from Cheney's secret meetings with Oil Execs to plan our Energy policy to the 9/11 Commission reporting on the night of 9/11 Rumsfeld and Cheney both directing Clarke and Rice to "find a connection to Iraq", this has been an administration that has worked towards it's own agenda, not what is best for Americans.

Why do you think they picked a failed Baseball and Oil Exec. who abused drugs and alcohol till 40 as their President? Perfect choice for a puppet...Don't get me wrong, as a person W is a fine man...But he is and never was a President.

This guy has really lost it. The deficit is not the largest in history in terms of its percentage of the GDP or in its inflation adjusted terms. Also, the national debt could be eliminated overnight by selling off a small portion of the land owned by the federal government (us taxpayers) for development by private businesses (the debt is not mentioned by Mr. Iacocca, but I'm sure it is on his mind).

The fact that he supported the traitor and liar, John Kerry, in 2004, is all one needs to know about his current state of mind (it is gone!). We need to spend whatever it takes to win in Iraq and give our great young troops the support they need to defeat Al Queda and the other Islamo-fascists who kill innocent civilians worldwide.

So another one sees the light I wonder how long it will be until more of the wealthy realize that they stand the most to lose not the poor or the middle.

ABC, by last count, you used some form of the word "bash" 27 times in this section.

To save you some time, I've collected a few alternatives for you:

sock, whomp, whap, whop, bonk, slam, hammer, wallop, knock, boink, bink, and nail.

No charge of course. Simply give me credit when they're used.

This is the dubya legacy:

divided the nation
politicized the government
largest debt in the shortest time
disastrous unnecessary war
heads party of several cheats & perverts
most false press statements
stooge of cheney and rove
loss of civil liberties
damaged the armed forces
greatest vacation time
cut social programs for needy
destroyed national image abroad
blind to global warming threat

probably left a lot out,

And the image of Christianity isn't doing too well in the M East either..

But he is NOT a flip-flopper. He'll drive that car straight down the road even if there is a cow in the middle of it.
That nobody wants the library says a lot about the legacy.
But they might just write an executive order and have it built at gitmo bay.

By the way, the traitor Kerry actually was in Vietnam, and got shot at, which is something most of us can't say. Do you know what the life expectancy of a 2Louie. was over there? Not very long they say.

Just what is it that U.S. citizens have against so-called "flip-floppers"?
Mr Iacocca , in his autobiography, had already pointed out that his political beliefs changed from time to time, and were sometimes fed by his personal finances, sometimes by common sense or emotions.
This is all that democracy is about.
His change of heart about the Bush Administration is steered by the results of the first 4 years of Bushist Politics.
People have the RIGHT to change views, all the time, if necessary 20 times a day. And anyone might critisize that of course.
I have see Iacocca as a straight-forward thinking person, having read his autobiography years ago. And he sees (As most of us europeans have predicted) that this government has put itself in deep trouble. Without any hope of relief.
Realizing he once supported the dislectic King George II in the White House, must be a heave bear to him.

Do not worry, Lee!
I've had a Lemon-Mustang, but I do no hate you for that!

Well I too voted for George W. jr. Thinking he would get rid of Sadam and his nuclear and biological terror toys and just like Afghanistan leave only 3,000 troops instead of retaining and adding 150,000 thereby increasing casualties and asking for another Trillion dollars and doesn't even know the final troop withrawal date on this dizzying ever black hole we are getting into. Bush jr. needs to immitate his real idol the Great President Ronald Reagan, when the terrorist massacred our troops he realized his mistake and immediately withdrew all of them, this is the Civil War in Lebanon 20 years ago. Instead Bush jr. listening only to his ego and appointed selected cronies and ass kissers Cheny and his gang who are selected one million dollar contributers pardon the truth will not compromise at all.
