Mike Gravel "Uncensored"
April 30, 2007 7:08 PM
ABC News' Jennifer Duck Reports: Over a month ago, former Alaska Senator Mike Gravel said he was "censored" from a democratic debate hosted by CNN, the Manchester Union Leader, and WMUR-TV. After stealing a chunk of the spotlight in last Thursday's South Carolina debate, Gravel was officially invited today to participate in the upcoming June 3rd debate.
Gravel is one of six democratic candidates participating in the debate. Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama are the only democratic candidates who haven't sent their RSVP's. Gravel's spokesman Elliott Jacobson said, "After what happened at the last debate, we are definitely going."
Jacobson is referring to last week's debate where the underdog's fiery responses and questions for top-tier candidates turned a few heads. Jacobson says the debate made a name for the lesser known '08 candidate. "Money is flowing in and so is the support," Jacobson reported.
Also according to the campaign, e-mails have been overflowing staffers' inboxes. The anti-war candidate's next big move is to present "peace legislation" to all of the major '08 candidates.
