Oliver Stone to Direct Anti-Iraq War Ad
April 19, 2007 2:19 PM
ABC News' Teddy Davis Reports: Oliver Stone, the Vietnam vet whose films include "Platoon" and "Born on the Fourth of July," has agreed to direct an anti-Iraq war television ad featuring a disenchanted Iraq war veteran or veteran's family member.
The ad, which will be paid for by MoveOn.org and Vote Vets, will air "nationwide" a few weeks from now after MoveOn.org members decide over the next week via on-line ballot which of 20 vets or vet family members they find most compelling based on two-minute audition videos. MoveOn.org does not know at this time how big the ad buy will ultimately be.
The audition videos can be viewed here.

Wow! All this protesting of the war has really proven to be effective! haha! How long have people been protesting now? Has anything changed?? NOPE!!!!!!! Stop waisting your time, your voices won't change the President's policies or decisions. Give it up, you won't win!

Hey mike, how many times have you been to Iraq? None of the people I know fighting there want to be there anymore yet the oil addiction causes the bush admin to keep ordering them back....so back they go. it's ok mike, keep driving your hummer & stay wrapped up in your disillusioned world. the quest for oil is unhealthy no matter how you look at it.

All this public backbiting and grandstanding is pathetic. You're supposed to put out a unified front and solve your issues behind closed doors. Not argue in front of the world like children. It's dissension among the ranks. Plain and simple. Which just makes us look even more foolish and weak.
All just so someone can steal the spotlight for a moment or make a headline.

MY SUV loves Iraqi oil baby! If we are there for oil, why isn't our gas prices lower?? Again, another cry for help that will never be answered. Well done! No body wants to be a in a war zone. So this war would be just if the troops enjoyed their time there? When we/they sign the line, we know the risks, war is not fun, its not suppose to be fun. Why would they want to be there? That's not our decision, they/we signed up and knowing the risk and knowing we are to OBEY ALL ORDERS of the President. It didn't say, "only go to war if you want to." Oil addiction; another slogan used to hype up hippy propaganda. Support our President, our troops and our country!

Like Oliver Stone's ad WON'T make us look foolish and cheap. I don't want someone who will put our veterans down to make his point. After his documentary full of lies about JFK's assassination, I have never been to any of his other movies. In my estimation, it would be like putting a statue of Jane Fonda in front of the Vietnam War veterans' memorial.
How sick and how crass is the mind which conceived this garbage.

wow, I just want American kids to not die for things that were/are none of our business.

Anyone who passionately supports this war built on lies, like Mike for example, should go over there and help out. If you really say you support Bush and America and diss the anti war folks (who were right from day one), then by all means enlist and go over.

This is just another pathetic example of liberal grandstanding. We should all pay attention because the great Oliver Stone has weighed in with his disapproval? Wow. As for finding a "disenchanted Iraq war veteran," so what? I'm sure we could find plenty of people who've worked with Stone who are "disenchanted" with him. What does this prove? Just how self-important some people can be because they have an outlet for it? I'm not impressed. And by the way, thanks, Mr, Stone, for putting this out there for the rest of the world to see. I'm getting a little tired of the lame liberal claim "I support the troops, but not the war." Well, guess what? Most of the troops DO support the war in the all-volunteer armed forces. So take a stand, but don't pretend to "support the troops" when your actions do everything possible to undermine their efforts.

I have been on active duty for 6 years Max! I've been over there. Ya, its not fun, but thats what I signed up to do.

Yet another thinly covered way for the Lib. Left to undermine the
Troops who they "Support".
Oliver Stone has lost all credibility in the last 10 years, he is just the lap dog of the left to VALIDATE their perverted slant on the state of the War on Terrorism. If you belive the drivil
that they are passing out as the
one and ONLY truth, I have some swamp land in florida you should check out... cheap!
