Clinton-Obama Illinoi$ Battle

ABC News' Jennifer Parker Reports: For the first time since announcing her presidential campaign, Sen. Hillary Clinton, D-N.Y., fundraises Monday night in Chicago on the political turf of her '08 democratic rival Sen. Barack Obama, the junior senator from Illinois.

It's a sign that Clinton, who grew up in the Chicago suburb of Park Ridge, isn't giving up ground to Obama when it comes to raising money in his state. Obama significantly out raised Clinton in Chicago during the first quarter, however Clinton has stepped up her fundraising efforts in Illinois recently.

According to Monday's Chicago Tribune, Clinton has acquired the support of one of Chicago's wealthiest democrats, Jay Robert Pritzker, an heir to the Hyatt hotel empire. The paper reports that Pritzker, ranked as the 160th richest Americans by Forbes magazine, has signed on to Clinton's campaign as the national chair of Citizens for Hillary, a campaign group tasked with grassroots outreach. He will raise money and support for Clinton among his vast social and financial network.

Clinton's latest fundraising hire sets up a family feud of sorts, because Pritzker's estranged older sister, Penny Pritzker, is the national finance chair for Obama's campaign. The Pritzker family has been famously embroiled in a bitter battle over the $15-billion family fortune.

According to the latest edition of Vanity Fair, the battle over money has torn the family apart, and even culminated in a lawsuit from one Pritzker family-member who accused her family of looting $1-billion from her trust fund.

It would seem that the Clinton-Obama battle for the democratic nomination has found its way into the Pritzker family feud with Jay Robert Pritzker backing Clinton, and Penny Pritzker --who is 153rd on Forbes magazine's list of richest Americans -- supporting Obama.

Clinton and Obama should come together and one should take the first four years and the other should take the last for years; with 50% of people of color voting and 50% of women voting, the election will be a winner
