Ode to Fred Thompson

ABC News' Liz Marlantes Reports: 'Obama Girl' it's not.  But perhaps it was inevitable that the hugely popular YouTube video "I've Got a Crush on Obama" would prompt some parodies of its own.

"I've Got a Crush on Fred Thompson's Politics" is a country-fried ode to Thompson that opens with shots of singer James Kole and then Thompson smoking cigars, and proclaims the former senator and still-unofficial candidate's politics "the American way."

The song hits on conservative themes like immigration ("secure the border, make employers pay") and taxes ("the IRS has got to go, you see") and it takes aim directly at Hillary Clinton: "Hillary calls for shared prosperity; I prefer to keep my liberty."

Oddly, the video also tips its hat to a '60s counterculture icon, using the same cue-card gimmick as Bob Dylan in "Subterranean Homesick Blues."

Mixed messages aside, "I've Got a Crush on Fred Thompson's Politics" has some catching up to do.  So far, it has been viewed more than 7,000 times on YouTube, putting it far behind "I've Got a Crush on Obama" -- which has been viewed more than 1.5 million times.

No Thanks Fred. I don't want more of the same. I want someone who WILL protect the borders, not pass more Patriot Act laws, and bring out troops home. Ever heard of smaller federal government?? Bush lied and said he was for that.....

Ron Paul had proven (check his record) that he lives what he preaches.
