ABC News' Vija Udenans reports: Al Gore was back in the nation's capitol Saturday making speeches and demanding policy changes. But it's not what you think. The former Vice President spoke at the Live Earth Concert in Washington, D.C., one of nine cities worldwide holding the concert as part of a six-month attempt to raise awareness about climate change and environmental issues.

Gore said that solving climate problems requires new laws, new technology and new understanding.  He appealed to the crowd and those watching around the world to participate in a 7-point pledge to raise the environmental awareness. The pledge outlines strategies that require new laws, technology and understanding to solve climate problems and includes personal commitments to reduce CO2 pollution.

The Live Earth Concert in Washington, D.C. wasn't added to the world wide concert schedule until Friday after Senate Republicans blocked efforts to hold the event on Capitol Hill. Gore alluded to the difficulties by saying "some who don't understand what is at stake tried to stop us, but here we are!"

Gore will travel to New Jersey to attend this evening's concert at Giants Stadium.

Gore at his best. Spreading alarm on global warming caused by humans is a lie. Making millions for himself by being a hypocrite.

He creates more pollution than 95 % of the rest of us, but global warming is our fault. Elitism strikes again.
