Dodd Reports Q-2 Numbers
July 15, 2007 6:46 PM
ABC News' Donna Hunter Reports: The presidential campaign of Democratic Senator Chris Dodd raised $3.2 million in the second quarter bringing his cash on hand total at the start of the third Quarter to 7.4 million, according to papers filed with the Federal Election Commission on Sunday.
The campaign raised a large portion of this quarter's money from his home state of Connecticut bringing in $857,263 and New York with $796,450. Dodd has yet to address whether or not he is for or against taxing hedge funds but his campaign did accept contributions from Steve Cohen's hedge fund SAC Capital for the amount of $94,500 and from the Blackstone Group for $29,000.
The campaign spent the biggest amount of money -- a little over a million dollars -- on television advertising with staff salaries following closely behind at rougly $800,000.
The Dodd campaign remains confident that they will be able to meet their goal of 20 to 25 million raised to compete for the nomination and the general election.

I love Senator dodd and greatly appreciate his strong stand against the Military Commissions Act. I also think his Mandatory National Service Concept,is a good one, especially if it includes health care, but I am only contributing to candidates who support impeachment of Bush and Cheney because I think it is vital to preserve our form of gov't and protect our Constitution from domestic enemies.
My prescription to Democrats is: Take two aspirin and call me when impeachment is on the table. zzzzzzzzz.
