ABC News' Julia Bain Reports: Republican presidential candidate Sam Brownback's campaign blasted rival Mitt Romney Tuesday for serving on the board of Marriott International "which generated tens of millions of dollars in revenue through in room pornography services at its hotels."
In a press release, the Brownback campaign calls a new Romney television advertisement focusing on the need to protect children from exposure to pornography and sex and violence in the media, "a move rich with irony" in light of his work with Marriott.
Brownback, a social conservative, is campaigning on the need to strengthen America's families and renew its culture.
Romney spokesman Kevin Madden tells ABC News, "Governor Romney is the most vocal advocate on the issues of protecting children and strengthening the American family in this campaign."
Madden adds that the former Massachusetts Governor served on the Marriott board over five years ago and, "matters related to in-house entertainment vendors chosen by independent franchise operators were not issues that would have even come before the board of directors."
This is the latest effort by the Brownback campaign to highlight discrepancies in Romney's record, particularly on social issues.
Romney's ad, which is running in Iowa, New Hampshire, and South Carolina, begins with Romney telling viewers, "I'm deeply troubled about the culture that surrounds our kids today."
Watch the ad HERE.
Brownback has been campaigning across Iowa on his conservative credentials and "pro-life, whole-life" platform in the run-up to the Ames, Iowa straw poll on August 11th.

By the way, I agree with Doug Brockbank and with Brownback about the Marriot and porn. I just don't think Brownback has any chance at all of winning the nomination ,and I think the main reason he doesn't is because, for more than a year, he's been one of the leading proponents of the Amnesty bill.

Just more Republican hypocrisy. Romney didn't care about porn when it was making millions of dollars for him, but now he rails against it. Romney and Sen. Vitter should rent a room together and call some hookers to come over.

This is hilarious. Romney's ad focuses on keeping p0rn from kids, not from adults who have the freedom to view whatever they want in the privacy of their hotel room. Also, becuase it made tens of millions for Marriott, does not mean that romney made any money from it. BTW, can any of you people bagging on Romney tell me what the Board of Directors responsibilities are? They don't usually spend too much time on day to day operations. Rather they meet rarely to vote on wether to issue dividends, stock related votes, voting in high level vp's and officers. It is very much a part time job. Different analogy all together, but same principle - next time your mailman brings a victoria's secret catalog to your house, be sure to try to smear him in public for pandering p0rn.
