ABC News' Julia Bain reports: Actor Stephen Baldwin tells ABC News that he is ready to endorse Sam Brownback's presidential bid, following the Kansas senator's speech at the Iowa Straw Poll Saturday. Baldwin said that after listening to all the speeches and doing "his homework" he decided to throw his support to Brownback.

Baldwin, who says that his vote is "spiritually motivated," told ABC, "I think what America needs more than anything is a leader who's honest, who's truly a man of faith, and who allows that faith to make his decisions with his common good sense; and I think that's Sam Brownback."

Brownback is a viable candidate. Better of the lot from the GOP.

Stephen Baldwin eh? Okay, Brownback is now finished.

I can't believe people like him. His whole campaign is "I will make the family and culture stronger, and that will solve most of our problems."

Yeah, oookay pal. You go stop all the divorces from happening and make people stop having kids out of wedlock. That is what I want my President to do. Gimme a break and get real people!

Go Brownback go!

The demographic winter is here.

Have a nice day.

Sincerely,
Solange

Wow, this is news. A "B" grade actor endorses Sen. Brownback. Do they actually think that this has any impact on the way people will vote. Who's being naive here? Does Mr. Baldwin think that he will make an impact? Please.

"B" grade? I think "D" would be being generous.

I have to agree with elteegee. As an occasional fan of Hollywood schlock, I take offense at Stephen Baldwin being classified as a B actor.

Wow, Stephen Baldwin's endorsement. I hope ABC is hot on the trail of whom
gets the support of Sandy Duncan!

Stephen Baldwin appears to be a sincere individual. The fact that ABC felt Mr. Baldwin's endorsement was worthy of mention is nothing against Mr. Baldwin. You make it sound like he held a press conference?

He's sincere at least, but yeah who cares? Brownback's a non-factor. The far right's his only hope, but they like Fred Thompson's empty chair better than they like Brownback's whole song and dance. The right wing doesn't vote for president -- they vote for town sheriff, and the winner gets to be president.

This is an example of what bad drugs and plenty of 'em will do to critical thinking.

One born again supporting another. Why is that news to anyone?

Posted by: Kevin | Aug 16, 2007 3:00:56 PM

Ummm, Why is this considered news? glad new candidates come into the ring..but is this REALLLLLLLY newsworthy?

you got to be kidding me...geeeez picking a president should not be spritual...damm what is that ...is that like drawing straws?

Like Alex Baldwin's endorsement means anything? Brownbeck is another AMNESTY candidate.

If Brownbeck will restore honesty and most of all, sanity to the White House, then I'll vote for him.

By the way, Stephen Baldwin is in a great new film called, 'The Genius Club'. You should check it out.

Kristine, you must be joking! Politics is politics. There is no such thing as "honesty" in politics, and therefore, there will be none in the White House; no single candidate will ever restore honesty. (Nor sanity, but that's another rant!) And Callie, it's Alec, not Alex, and we're talking about neither one here! Stephen, who is the topic of the article, is a born-again Christian and a good Conservative Republican; Alec is a flaming liberal in dire need of several forms of rehab, including anger management. And a little honest born-again-ism wouldn't do him a bit of harm.
