Cindy McCain's Political Style
August 02, 2007 3:32 PM
ABC News' Sunlen Miller reports: Cindy McCain, wife of Senator John McCain, R-Ariz., is trying to become the next First Lady. But don't expect her to be Laura Bush or Hillary Clinton-esque in the spousal role.
"I perceive myself as just Cindy McCain," she stated in an interview with San Diego Magazine, commenting that her involvement in nonprofits and volunteer work would be her main focus if she finds herself in that position.
Mrs. McCain has unintentionally set herself apart from the pack of spouses of the 2008 presidential candidates.
She says she's not trying to get involved in the policy or the politics.
"I've never been a political person," she confessed.
Unlike former Mayor Rudy Giuliani, R-N.Y., who has said he would let his wife, Judith Giuliani in on cabinet meetings, Cindy responded, "I would not attend cabinet meetings; I would not be a part of that process. That's my husband's job."
Mrs. McCain has had a large presence on the campaign trail, campaigning for her husband as he runs for the Republican presidential nomination.
When asked if she and her husband disagree on any issues, Mrs. McCain said, "My differences with John may have been more stylistic than anything else … I'm certainly not lockstep with him, but I don't have any complaints at all."
Mrs. McCain was asked to reveal her husband's most annoying habit.
"He's a remote-control freak. Once he gets hold of the remote control, forget it. If you want to watch something else, you're out of luck."

Isn't MCcain the Arizona politician who had a sexual harrassment suit against him? Wasn't it discrimination of the sort the left women as second or maybe even third class citizens? I could be wrong. It just seems that I remember reading an article later where they were cleaning his reputation up and of course showing his gorgeous wife.
