Clinton Plays 20 Questions with Bush
September 06, 2007 1:27 PM
ABC News' Eloise Harper and David Chalian Report: Though Sen. Clinton has come a long way in assuaging early concerns among many Democrats about her positions on the Iraq war, it is never a welcome week in Clinton land when the Iraq issue is the dominant political narrative. Iraq will be exactly that next week when General David Petraeus and U.S. Ambassador to Iraq Ryan Crocker go before Congress to deliver the Administration's progress report. Sen. Clinton is hoping to get ahead of the crush of reactions from presidential candidates by trying to set some of the terms of the debate.
Clinton is playing 20 questions with President Bush. The presidential hopeful has sent the president a list of questions that she hopes will be addressed when he prepares the report to be presented before Congress next week.
"In the wake of your recent trip to Iraq and as your Administration prepares to submit its Congressionally-mandated report on progress in Iraq by September 15, it is important that the American people have an accurate perception of the situation in Iraq," writes Clinton.
The questions range from Iraqi National Police to the detrimental impact of the war on the readiness of the Army and Marines. Clinton hopes these questions are addressed and presumably answered next week.

I hope she isn't really expecting answers. That much thought could burn what's left of GWB's brain out completely.

I am not honestly interested in what George Bush will answer to them, because they are really of no consequence anymore. His word is against the rest of the public. But I am curious what Clinton is planning at this event.

Once again Mrs. Clinton shows her "I'm so important" attitude with this ploy. She is one of 100 senators who will hear the President's report next week. Just because she wishes to "cut in line" to make herself appear more important, doesn't make it right. Get back in the line Senator, where you belong!

Really Hillary, you know that trying to put thoughts in an area known as the TABULA RASA, could have enormous repercussions for the country. Why Bush could throw a little alcoholic frat boy party and decide he really is GOD and not just GODs man here on earth and then what kind of monster would you loose upon us??????

I think it is creative that Mrs. Clinton is thinking out of the box. This is a pretext of an advanced thinker.

Hillary's so cute! She wants to play 20 questions with Bush. I'm sure there are plenty of anti-war progressives who could muster up 20 questions of their own for Hillary. Now that would be NEWS!

God, please let Hillary and GWB argue it out, let us see who's smarter!

It don't impress me at all, that Clinton has got 20 questions for Bush.
Maybe she should be the one answer these 20 questions, plus a few more.

Erica, it's called getting ahead of the report. It's good politics.
The White House is actually going to write the report from the General, with their own positive spin. She's out in front of the story, putting them on notice that platitudes won't do it.
And seriously, you're calling her "one of 100 senators" when she's the odds-on favorite to become the nominee? Come on, you're not that naive, are you? Of course she has a higher level of media and political importance given her position in the presidential race.

Apologies to Erica...my above should have been directed to Sue.

Hey Sue, don't let these wussies rattle your cage. They're making fun of "W" because he may flub a word or two in his speeches. I wonder what "BB" would say when one day he/she (not enough courage to give a name) finds out that Bush has been to Harvard AND Yale when most of these Democrats couldn't make 300 on their SAT scores in order to get into a college.

When will Hillary and the rest of the democrats running for President of the United States, realize that President Bush is not running in the next presidential election.. and tell us what they will actually do to make America better...

Hillary Clinton= biggest phony to EVER campaign for ANY office. The problem w/ the Clintons is that everything is about the Clintons. Its about self promotion not about serving your country.
