Fred Thompson's Bus

ABC News' Christine Byun reports: The freshly announced Republican presidential candidate Fred Thompson, the former senator from Tennessee, will be traveling in a kid-friendly bus as he embarks on his grass roots tour.

The brand new bus is swathed in purple and gold with a picture of Thompson's face and his message: "Security Unity Prosperity." The bus will transport his family, campaign manager and a few staffers, including a videographer. There are 7 flatscreen tvs with two couches, dvd players, a small table, kitchen (furnished with a coffeemaker and microwave) and a makeshift changing table for his baby son, Samuel.

There were toys and books set out for his three-year-old daughter, Hayden, as well as some antibacterial hand sanitizers to keep them clean as they make their stops around Iowa.

The press will be traveling in another bus, packed with seats and a bathroom and a bus driver named Billy Ray. The vehicles are made by a company hailing from his homestate, Hemphill Brothers, a Nashville, Tenn. bus company, which furnished ABC News with their 2004 Election buses and has provided services for touring artists like Beyonce and the Police.
