Giuliani Saving Clinton Letter
September 14, 2007 2:13 PM
ABC News' Sunlen Miller Reports: Republican candidate Rudy Giuliani knows when to use what he's got.
At a campaign stop in Baton Rouge Friday, the former New York City Mayor professed he's holding on to a memento from the Clinton years and is waiting for the right time to bring it out.
Speaking before the Louisiana Sheriffs' Association, Giuliani boasted of his strong support of the crime bill and said, "I have a letter I keep it at home. It's a letter from President Clinton congratulating me for all of my efforts and saying the crime bill couldn't have been passed if it weren't for me. I keep this letter and I'm going to use it in the right moment."
Amid thunderous laughter from the crowd, Giuliani smiled and added, "You can imagine when."
And when would that be, Mr. Mayor?

I saw Giuliani on Fox NonNews while channel surfing and had to turn it. He reminds me of a pedantic child.

Giuliani is comical – he still believes in himself! That's a powerful ego. I always suspected that one of the threads to be in Washington is insanity.

I wonder how many letters he has from his former mistresses, or his former convicted appointee's and pal's, Kerik, Harding, Placa and others he may have? Will he use those too? This guy is contemptible.

I want to explode the myth that Giuliani singlehandedly cleaned up crime in New York. The fact is that the crime rate was reduced throughout the country in the period of time Giuliani was mayor. I think the reduced crime rate in New York and the rest of the country was brought about by the Clinton economy and the Clinton programs to put more cops on our streets. You will note that the crime rate is again on the rise thanks to the Bush and Republican budget cuts which eliminated a lot of those cops.
