Power Couple's Power Lunch

ABC News' Sunlen Miller Reports: Want to dine with the Clintons?  You'll have to cough up a campaign contribution.

The Clinton campaign will select one supporter - and their guest - to have lunch with the former first couple.  The campaign will choose among those who make a contribution by midnight Friday, September 7th.

Wait.  Suddenly the Radar is experiencing deja vu.

Soliciting contributions, Bill Clinton sent around an email to supporters Thursday with the curiosity perking subject line "Mind If I Drop In?"

Inside, the former president confesses, "There's no one smarter, no one better informed, and no one whose conversation I enjoy more.  So if you have the chance to sit down and talk with Hillary – like you do right now – you don't want to miss it.  That's why I'm going to join the two of you."

The invitation does not, however, specify whether the former President hoping to become the nation's first gentleman will have anything to do with the actual construction of the meal.

But he will certainly take the opportunity to gush over his wife, concluding the note, "Thirty –six years ago, Hillary and I started a conversation, and it hasn't stopped since.  I hope you'll join our conversation for a day."

Now that's a power lunch.

I wouldn't break bread with those two knuckleheads if THEY offered to pay ME.

Me and my family think that Bill Clinton's presidency was a successful one, that was responsible and resulted in significant debt reduction and was a lot of steps in the right direction.

Have the fat intern bring pizza and cigars...

Joe Dowden, I think Bill Clinton's presidency was a complete slap in the face of liberty. Using the FBI files on over 600 political opponents, imposing the single largest tax increase in human history, and selling technology to the communist Chinese that gives them pin point accuracy and first strike capability with ICBM and stealth technology submarines... not to mention the pay for pardons in the 11th hour... Yeah it was a success alright, Joe Stalin would be proud.
