Clinton Appeals to Women Voters in D.C.
October 17, 2007 5:32 PM
ABC News' Eloise Harper Reports: Senator Hillary Clinton's outreach to women voters was in full swing in Washington D.C., Wednesday, where the Senator from New York proposed legislation to strengthen America's child care workforce with Democratic Congresswoman Rosa DeLauro.
According to a statement from the Senator's office "The Quality Child Care for America Act invests in quality child care by funding workforce development initiatives and workforce enhancement for child care providers."
Clinton attended a fundraiser later in the afternoon, where the campaign raked in $1.5 million from a crowd of 1000 women. Clinton told the enthusiastic group of women, mostly wearing tan hats with "Hillary" written in blue across them, that she "is running a positive campaign."
Clinton outlined her frustration with the Bush administration saying they "muzzled government scientists -– claimed that a little bit of lead wouldn't hurt you, a little bit of arsenic wouldn't hurt you, but probably the president's most egregious example was the President's ban on stem cell research."
Clinton complained, "here is a president whose two highest priorities during his terms in office have been tax cuts for people like Bill and me, and the war in Iraq."
The crowd of women laughed when Clinton turned to the recent attacks she has been receiving.
"Now I've noticed that the last couple of weeks I have been getting a lot of attention from the men in this race and at first I didn't know what to make of it, and then a good friend of mine said, 'when you get to be our age, having that much attention from all of these men'…"
Clinton said she wouldn't mimic their behavior saying "I'm not interested in attacking anyone. I am interested in attacking the problems of our country."
Clinton told the sold out crowd that she will have another summit on December 13th in New York, Clinton pointed out that she "want(s)to bring women and men together."

I wonder why Nancy P wasn't there. has anyone noticed that she never mentions her on the campaign trail. Wonder Why...Maybe its because
1) Nancy hasn't done that great of a job
2) America is not ready for 2 women to hold the top spots and she doesn't want tto bring attention to it

I am a black female and I do not support her, neither my daughters or my female neighbors. Why does she thinks she has more to offer black women than Obama?
Obama 08!

I've always heard how efficient, hard working, and determined Senator Clinton is, but I've never heard of this humorous lady named Hillary.
I'm growing to like her more and more!
