Edwards Attacks Clinton on Questionable Contributions
October 19, 2007 3:43 PM
ABC News' Raelyn Johnson Reports: After an article in Friday's "Los Angeles Times" revealed that Clinton received large donations from poor residents living in New York City's Chinatown, the Edwards campaign pounced on the opportunity to bring more attention to the questionable contributions.
"This morning we all read in L.A. Times that many Clinton campaign contributions are raising eyebrows again. Many of their donors are not even registered to vote, and at least one denied even making any contribution at all," Edwards Campaign Manager David Bonior said in a statement on Friday.
"Senator Clinton has said public financing is the answer. Senator Edwards has opted to take public financing, but Senator Clinton has not. Senator Clinton should explain why she doesn't mean what she says...The bottom line is we need a nominee who can do two things: campaign in all 50 states and challenge our broken system in Washington. With every day the growing question has to be can Hillary Clinton do either?"
Last Sunday while campaigning in New Hampshire, Edwards sought to bring Clinton down a notch by pointing to a story "The New York Times" that explained the New York Senator's vote to declare the Iranian Revolutionary Guard a terrorist organization.
"There was a story in today's New York Times about this issue and about her vote on this issue. And some of her advisers said that she voted yes because she was moving from primary mode to general election mode. I may be wrong, and you'll have to tell me, have we already decided who's going to win the New Hampshire primary," said Edwards during a town hall meeting in Dover last week.
Seeking further distinction he added, "instead of primary mode versus general election mode, instead of saying one thing in the primary and something different for the general election, how about if we do tell the truth mode all the time. How about if we say exactly what we believe and stand by that position."

I guess the main stream media is eating it's own crap. Perhaps, this story is not as important as Obama being an 8th cousin of Cheney.
This is pitiful!

Dishwashers, waiters and others whose jobs and dilapidated home addresses seem to make them unpromising targets for political fundraisers are pouring $1,000 and $2,000 contributions into Clinton's campaign treasury. In April, a single fundraiser in an area long known for its gritty urban poverty yielded a whopping $380,000. When Sen. John F. Kerry (D-Mass.) ran for president in 2004, he received $24,000 from Chinatown

Anything ...that's what they were willing to do to out raise Obama Q3. They obiviously didn't care whether it was illegal or not, afterall they got away with HSU with just a slap on the risk. Next quarter it will be illegal immigrant farm workers in FL.

This is a repeat of what happened in 2002. When many people new that Bush was heading for war, based on false pretense, and failed to do the hard nosed reporting that was necessary. They could have prevented the war if they had reported on the opposition to war. Now with their silence they helping usher perhaps the most blantly corrupt kind of politics by letting Clinton get away with this. I never imagined that someone could be worse than Bush. But Clinton's arrogance and total disregard for what is decent is very scary. She could be worse than Bush.

Slowly, the truth will start to come out. Corruption to take campaign money from the poor such as in China Town and elsewhere by the Clintons is very sad and dirty. Is this the person that is to become the President of the USA? After the problems with the Bush administration, is America ready to go through another period of bad government, which only brings shame to America both at home and abroad? Everyone American voters should think. Don't give your vote to encourage corruption. Whoever you vote for should be clean, trustworthy and dedicated to fix the issues facing America.

Does this really surprise anyone?

The last time a Clinton ran for President it was Chinese nuns in LA each giving $5000 checks to his campaign. After the election CHina never had a better friend than Bill Clinton. Since his tenure they have become the industrial collosus of the earth while the US has sunk slowly into the sunset. He even violated US export laws to help the Chinese update their rocket technology. What will the Red Chinese get for their money this time? A promise not to intervene if Taiwan is attacked?

This is just the same old Clinton corruption scandal. My question is; why didn’t moveon.org or media matters do a better job of covering it up. The Clintons aren’t getting their moneys worth from these Hillary campaign groups.

Because the GOP Outraised the Democrats over and over(and were highlt criticized for it by the way)........the Socialist Party of America's Mindset is:
If we raise more money than the GOP......we will win!
That's why you hear all the talk of the Dems outraising the GOP "ad nauseum"....
But...As Usual...the DemoCrats have stunk it up again for American Voters to plainly see.....
Additionally, when the GOP picks a candidate......JUST WATCH THE MONEY ROLL IN FOR THE CAUSE!

It's dejavu all over again. In case you have forgotten, there's a continuation with Clinton's and their Chinese connection. When they were in the White House, they encouraged Chinese to visit, but there was a big charge for everything, such as pictures, running with the president, the Lincoln Bedroom, etc. Now we see Hillary getting bundling money from China Town in NYC. For them, it's money any way you can get it, legal or illegal.

Clintons are friendly with the Chinese because of their socialist/communist sympathies. No surprise that China sees a friend in these two.

Marc Rich. Norman Hsu. Buddhist Temples. Chinese Agents Johnny Huang, Trie and Chang.
Liberal or Conservative. Democrat or Republican. Any American must realize the Clintons are corrupt people.

Clinton's campaign fund raising should be a major story by ABC and the rest of the media. The problem is the bias in the media stops the reporting or puts up "fluff" stories ahead of this to bury it.
It is clear that there is a media bias that stops these stories from appearing or make them disappear. If this bias continues it will lead to the media becoming nothing more than a place that will loose viewers and credibility - I hear that is happening already to the newspapers, next is TV.
