McCain Gets Standing Ovation in S.C.

ABC News' Bret Hovell Reports: It started just like any other McCain campaign event -- a stump speech, some talk about the war and government spending, and then a chance for the audience to ask questions.
But what followed was a uniquely emotional moment that brought a roomful of people to their feet in applause.
Senator John McCain, R-Ariz, was addressing nursing students and faculty at the University of South Carolina campus in Spartanburg, S.C, when what started as a typical campaign event was ended with a moment that stood out from among ordinary campaign events.
As McCain was wrapping up, a man stood just to say he supports McCain's campaign.
"Do you have some free time this afternoon?" McCain quipped, saying that he could use the help on the campaign.
Later, another woman stood up and addressed the other members of the audience, reminding them of McCain's time as a prisoner of war in Vietnam, and calling him a real leader in the race for the White House.
As she spoke people started clapping, and soon everyone in the room was standing and applauding, giving McCain a standing ovation.

I watched the debate last night on October 21, 2007. John McCain IS the President. Now, it is up to us to move him in__Let's' "Roll up our sleeves and go to work". I am no longer undecided. Thank you,Mr President.

I was in the US Navy in Iraq, Pakistan and India in 1968. That experience pales in comparison to what John McCain experienced in that time period. His service then and now is truly inspirational.
