Michelle Obama Joins Hillary Bashing.
October 14, 2007 8:43 AM
ABC News' Sunlen Miller Reports: In advance of her trip tomorrow to fundraise overseas in London, Michelle Obama, wife of Democratic presidential hopeful Sen. Barack Obama D-Ill., mirrored her husband's attacks this week going after frontrunner Hillary Clinton in an interview with the Sunday Times. You can read the article HERE.
Linking Hillary and Bill to old hat, Mrs. Obama compares them to "the same suit and defies the sense that Hillary is the "inevitable" candidate because she doesn't have the most money nor the biggest base of donors. Mrs. Obama also addresses the issue of Clinton being a polarizing figure.
"Nothing is inevitable," said Mrs. Obama, vowing that her husband was a "uniter" who could beat Clinton to the party nomination.
Asked if she thought Clinton was a polarising figure, she replied: "That is definitely one of the challenges she faces. You can see it in the surveys."
"People know Hillary and Bill, so their first instinct is to say: well, I've heard of these people," she said. "But the more people see Barack, the more they like him. His favourable ratings are higher and, to top it off, he has brought in more money than any other candidate from a broader base of support."
"The 'inevitable' candidate has not raised the most money and doesn’t have the biggest base of donors . . . So where's the 'inevitability'?"
"Sometimes we wear the same suit even if it’s got holes in it. We need a new suit, not just a new tie or new pants."

I think we have a "Uniter" in the white in the white house and see what we have. What's with these candidates sending their wives out to trash Hillary? Doesn't say much about their character.

Hillary is trashing herself. She is trashing everyone else, now it's her time to be trashed. Hillary is in for a rude awaken if she thinks she will be the next commander in chief.

I think the wives shoud shut up.Cann't the the big boys who want to be president speak for themselves.? What if Bill Clinton started to critisize, wouldn'nt that go over big. It's the same thing .

Bill has criticized Obama...where have you been in a cage. He did two weeks ago.

Michelle Obama is out bashing Clinton because her husband is too busy pandering to the evanglicals to do it himself.

Looks like obama can't fight his own battles. next week he will call his mommy for help. ABC - anyone but clinton, but not obama

That's bashing? Come on folks that was just straight talk, and very refreshing. Keep it up Michelle.

The only reason Hillary is even in congress is because her husband humiliated her by cheating on her in the white house. She, from Arkansas, ran for Senator of New York because nobody else was running. Her cakewalk is over. Shes gonna be dragged through the mud because thats where she belongs.
Hillary... time to go please. Enough of you.

Ah at last someone is speakin truth. Michele Obama is right the voters have not decided that Queen Hillary has taken the throne. The truth is she needs to be treated like anyone else who wants to be president. My criteria is simple. 1. Honest, Responsible, Integrity and above all demonstrate that He/She is willing to speak to the "America and the World" in an honest and straight forward way. The previous 16 years we have not had that type of leader. I, as a lifelong democrat do not feel the Senator from NY brings the necessary character to get my vote. Ms. Obama is correct she is an old suit and that is why we are where we are at home and in the world toda. She does not make me feel warm and fuzzy.

MICHELLE, don't you think it would be more interesting to let the big boy defend himself? He needs to show us he is able to.otherwise,he is just waisting his time and our time.listen we need a very strong, intelligent, smart, courageous, humble, clever and experienced man or woman to be the next president. If your husband thinks he is that man,he is wellcome.spend more time with him in adressing his campaign, will be more profitable to you and to your supporters, rather than running after Hillary. She is getting strong and strong and strong

I am sick of this. The republicans are again playing a political game.Let us keep it real Obama can not win in the ganeral election period. They are afraid of the political wizard of the Clintons.
Mitchell Obama do not fall into the trap of the right wing machine, they will come after you soon and knowing them , it is not going to be pretty.

Interesting that so much viciousness towards Michelle Obama is coming from women. If these detractors knew anything about her, they'd realize that Mrs. Obama is a more formidable woman than Sen. Clinton.
Yes, it's been an anomaly in the campaigns this year - especially the Democrats - with the spouses speaking out so much. In Obama's case, he can't win. If he doesn't speak out, he's derided. If he does, the Clinton campaign immediately slaps him down for not taking the high road (as if the Clintons would know where to find it).
What everyone should ask themselves - how many people are supporting Sen. Clinton completely on her own merits? All of those I know are supporting her for one reason: They want Bill Clinton back in the White House.
Moreover, her campaign is propagating the lie that she is the most experienced. Sens. Biden and Dodd and Gov. Richardson all have resumes that tower over Sen. Clinton's. It's time she explained this position in black and white. Also, she should start answering serious hypothetical questions. George W. Bush also refused to answer such in 2000 and 2004 - look where that got us! (Funny, as she chided Gen. Petraeus for refusing to answer the hypothetical she posed two him last month.) She should stop nuancing everything and take a strong position.
I do not doubt the Clintons mean well. The problem is that maintaining their personal power and celebrity will continue to be their first priority.

Just as her husband speaks of dreams, not policy, Michelle Obama dreams that her words will ring true, regardless of the fact that her husband is falling way behind Hillary. Clearly, the majority of people do not agree with her.

Actually, the more I hear from Sen. Obama, the more dishonest I find him to be.
He ran away from the MoveOn vote. And then two weeks later, he also ran away from the Iran vote, giving the lamest excuse possible for his absence. But he didn't stop there. Next he had the nerve to criticize Sen. Clinton for handing the President a "blank check" to attack Iran. As a lawyer and a literate person, he can read Kyl-Lieberman, so he knows this isn't true. I don't think he's pointed to a phrase in the amendment that authorizes the president to attack Iran because there isn't one. He's counting on repeating the same unfounded catch-phrase over and over to fool as many people as he can. As a tactic, this seems almost Republican.
For Sen. Obama's latest trick, he implied, in the most mealy-mouthed fashion, that Sen. Clinton had reversed her past position on meeting with Ahmadinejad without preconditions when he knew that her recent statement was about unconditional negotiations with Iran. He left himself just enough wiggle room so that if she explains the difference to him at the next Democratic debate, he won't have to choose between looking like a liar or a fool.
Given the last month or so, I have no desire to see any more of Sen. Obama.

I think we should all vote for Sen Clinton so Mr Ahmadinejad will have a woman US president to deal with.

It is a shame to me that we have to degrade our own to get ahead. Unity? Do we have to belittle another to make ourselves feel like we are on top? The Republicans are sitting back eating their cheese sandwiches and enjoying the ride back to the white house. I understand you have to get your point across that you are the best candidate for the job, but stop beating the same drum... It is getting old.. Have you noticed that everytime you go after a Clinton and try to take them down, the more attention they get and the move love people have for them... Whatever happened to a positive campaign. Obama will one day be a great leader, but to jump ship into the white house with your wife spouting negativity when you are trying to preach unity, is making her a walking contradictions... Can we just run a clean campaign and leave the childish nature behind.

Obama needs to stop talking smack about other candidates and focus on the issues, I cannot stand a back talker. His character is showing his true colors.
Posted by: Truth hurts, doesn't it! | Oct 15, 2007 6:49:51 PM
Hillary's showing her real colors too. She's pandering to woman and Black people just to get votes. Shame on you Hillary. You've absolutely lost my vote. Plus Truth Hurts, does't it Clinton? She got you. Plus dude above my comment Hillary really did start it. Plus Obama hasn't attack Hillary quite like she's attacked him. She called him "naive and inexperianced" he points out that she has contradicted her own word on foriegn policy. Obama hasn't attack, neither has his wife. His wife said that Hillary IS polorising which she is, the media talks about it all the time. Obama has never attacked Hillary, he's only pointed out her shortcomings.

What about the homeless, the mortgage crises, the abused, perils in education, the war in Iraq? I'm a christian, I'm black, I like Democrats (grew up one), and I like Republicans (as long as they are 'talkin' right)... No one is talking about the issues... In the end its about who can get the job done... it said that all of these bloggers spend so much time judging and not enough energy giving voice to the real issues... as americans we have so much, and we waste so much on foolish things... we need to wake up!
