ABC News' Sunlen Miller Reports: While campaigning for her husband in Iowa Tuesday, the van driving Michelle Obama crashed with a motorcycle, totaling the campaign van and hospitalizing the motorcyclist.

"The motorcyclist was transported to a nearby hospital, and Barack and Michelle's thoughts and prayers are with him and his family at this time, " Obama Iowa spokesman Tommy Vietor says.

The campaign has suspended the rest of Mrs. Obama's activities for the remainder of the day.

Barack Obama spoke to his wife earlier this evening before an event in Plymouth, New Hampshire, his campaign said.  He began his town hall 20 minutes late but was upbeat and did not mention the accident.

Hey, I was at the accident for a little bit. Quit being so rough on her. Almost everyone is involved in some sort of vehicle accident. Sure the other person was hurt more, but he also wasnt wearing a helmet and was on a motorcycle that doesnt protect him from flying off. Think about it. Everyone just needs to calm down. Accidents happen and they have been tortured enough!!! Think about it. How would you like to live with the thought of hitting a person and sending them to the hospital???

Indeed, Obama-he is a liar AT LEAST three times. First, he promised his Illinois constituents that he would serve out his entire first term prior to considering a run for president. He did not. Second, he promised his constituents he would pass legislation which would better regulate Exelon and other energy companies who were bilking customers (and possibly causing an increase in cancer rates). Yet not only did he allow Exelon to re-write the legislation in their favor, but he accepted over $200,000 in campaign contributions from them. Third, he stated - in public, on TV, during a debate - that “the only” connection between him and Tony Rezko was “5 hours” he spent on “a single case” as a “junior attorney.” Yet not only did he also spend at least five months working closely with Rezko on a real estate deal (they bought contiguous lots), but he accepted tens of thousands of dollars from Rezko for his campaigns.
