Obama Asked about Obama-Gore '08 Ticket
October 24, 2007 8:23 PM
ABC News Sunlen Miller Reports: How Does an Obama-Gore Ticket Sound? Don't Hold Your Breath.
Democratic Senator of Illinois Barack Obama put to bed that question from a voter who donned a t-shirt reading, "Obama and Gore: Experience and Youth, Obama and Gore: Wisdom and Truth."
The supporter asked the '08 presidential hopeful if he would consider taking "the wind out of Hillary’s sails" by asking Nobel prize winner former Vice President Al Gore to be his running mate before the primaries.
"I can promise you that as president I will have him involved in our administration in a very senior capacity in his role," Obama responded that, "having won the Nobel peace prize and an Oscar that being Vice President again would be probably a step down for him."
Obama laughed that the voter would have made a good campaign manager.
Echoes of the previous election were also brought up at the same town hall in Dover, New Hampshire. A woman wanted to know how Obama would avoid getting swift boated and being "turned by the Republicans into a minstrel show."
Obama admitted that everyone was traumatized by what happened in the 2004 with Senator John Kerry but that his candidacy is different, "I don’t worry about getting swift boated. I guarantee you they will go after me, I mean they already started."
The Senator said he would have a different strategy to deal with attacks, "You have to respond forcefully, you have to respond immediately - and you have to respond truthfully. And we are prepared for whatever they throw at me and we will come right at them. "
Ready for battle Obama finished, "I played basketball and I’m skinny but the people I play with will tell you I don’t mind going down low and throwing elbows."

Gore getting a Nobel prize for narrating a dubious film is so pathetic as to be beyond belief. What a disgrace.

Davis Guggenheim must be so tired of people giving "his" Academy Award to Gore.

Reply to "Just the facts":
About your article link as "proof" to the "warming fantasy" comments....
You mean to tell me you had to find an article dating back to last June and with data only covering 400 years (which is not geological time scale) as your "proof"?? Me thinks you need to study Earth Science 101 again. :)

"They ain't gonna do no Swiftboatin crap on me, Bro." Yeah, cuz he was never in the military, he received a 4-E deferrment for having ears the size of an elephant, and a brain the size of a flea. If the Swiftboaters lied, why didn't Kerry sue them?

Obama has to come clean on how he got 1.6 million for his mansion and has to tell us his deals with the Iranian businessman slumlord in Chicago.
Also he must tell us if he's a muslim or not.
Sharia Law says that the son of a muslim is a muslim for life.

Why do people keep perpetuating the MYTH that Gore won an Oscar? He did NOT win an Oscar. The Academy Award went to the producer of that silly documentary, not Gore.

Obama would be best president to follow Bush for this country.

Let's get real here. Why would a former two-term vice-president want to aspire to be VP again a decade and change later? The whole notion is laughable. Gore is an honorable man and now Nobel laureate who holds sway from a global bully pulpit far more prestigious than anything like maybe holding a vice-presidential role, once again.
Anyone who thinks Gore would be dumb enough to consider a secondary role as a wannabe longshot on a Democrat ticket next year simply has no clue as to how politics works.
Third time lucky? I hardly think so. Meanwhile, he owns the bully pulpit when it comes to the issues he most cares about.

LOL - I can't believe all the ranting back and forth from Democrats and Republicans about who will be our next president. It appears to me that the more mud you sling in the opposite direction, the more insecure your are about your own beliefs and choices. Wouldn't it be nice if everyone would just make the best choice for them without trying to make their choice the "right" one by putting others down?
Remember that your words define your own character and not anyone elses.
Peace

"Obama admitted that everyone was traumatized by what happened in the 2004 with Senator John Kerry"
LOL. Some American veterans came out and told the truth about John Kerry. Looks like Obama has something to hide too.

"Experience and youth?" ahahaha
It's more like "wacko and pure nutcase!"

Don't like either Obama or Gore, but I can see that putting Gore as a Sec of State would be a very good move for him. And as a Nobel Prize winner, Gore would have some pull in the job.

"A woman wanted to know how Obama would avoid getting swift boated and being 'turned by the Republicans into a minstrel show.'"
Wow....amazing. Already these die hard leftists are calling Republican attacks on Obama "racist". Amazing.

I'm sure even the socialist Hillary would get a laugh out of a barack hussein obama and algore ticket!

As a Republican, I may very well vote for Joe Biden if he is the Democratic nominee

Actually, a couple of comments.
This Obama/Osama/Muslim crap has got to stop. He has explained he's not a Muslim, so get off your butts and find some new slander, because this one is getting old and only reveals your own sheeplike stupidity. I believe this is the sort of attacks some of the die hard leftists are referring to. If you have to make up something to attack the guy with, obviously you don't have anything substantial.
This pathetic bitterness about Gore winning the Nobel prize...what the heck is that all about? Aren't you the same people who say get over Bush winning the election in 2000? Take your own advice. He won. stop whining. get over it.
Finally, I've noticed a few people here speaking out in favor of Biden. Why isn't he doing better? I've been really impressed with him. Much more than the front runners.

I have never voted for a Democrat since G. McGovern but,I am seriously considering voting for Obama. Now I hear this. Gore strikes me as a condescending snob and a crock. He belongs in Hollywood or Europe, anywhere outside the Government of the United States. Please, Barack, I hope you don't mean that. If you are for a new direction, Gore should be retired with all the Bushes and Clintons.

John from Des Moines are you SERIOUS, you would vote for Joe Biden, who is in a statistical tie with Steve Colbert(comic)! Nice job John
