Paul Raises Jaw-Dropping $5 Million
October 03, 2007 1:16 PM
ABC News' Z. Byron Wolf Reports: It dominated headlines yesterday when Sen. Hillary Clinton, D-NY, announced her campaign juggernaut had outpaced all rivals in the campaign fundraising horse race with a $27 million haul in the third quarter.
Today's fundraising announcement by Rep. Ron Paul, the Republican Libertarian ob-gyn from Texas, doesn't involve quite as much money, but is downright jaw-dropping.
His campaign is revealing today that in the 3rd quarter Paul raised $5,080,000. This is more than double his 2nd quarter figure of $2.4 million and no small sum for an insurgent campaign.
Comparatively, Paul's Q3 figure is five times what was raised in the same period by GOP rival former Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee, who is often given a better chance at the party nomination by political pundits. It puts Paul in the same fundraising neighborhood as top-tier Republican candidates like Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz.
Paul has become the buzz candidate with his hearty and vocal supporters, omnipresent on the Internet and at campaign events. But Paul's strict Libertarianism -- he is as vocal in his opposition to the Iraq war as he is in his support for the 2nd Amendment -- could hurt him with the GOP base who will ultimately choose the Republican nominee.
ABC's affiliate in Manchester, New Hampshire caught Paul at the airport Wednesday. To watch Paul's reaction to his third quarter fundraising success, click HERE.

Go Ron Paul
Ron Paul is the only candidate I will vote for on the Republican side, if not I am going third party
Please help him raise 12 million or more

And that $5 million doesn't count all the FREE campaigning he's getting from thousands of supporters.
To put it in perspective, I run a meetup group of 19 members and we have spent nearly $700, not counting our time. So add another $700 for our time and another $600 since we're a below-average sized group, multiply by 950 meetup groups nationwide and you get $1.9 million.
No doubt about it, he's top tier.

Guess what, all those poll figures are a farce as well. Zogby does not even list him, you have to say other? Oh well, looks like we need to get him that 12 million before New Years after all. What a corrupt system we live in, as bad as the Ruskies almost.

Democrats that are defecting from the Obama campaign. YOU MUST REGISTER REPUBLBIC BY OCT. 12 TO VOTE IN THE PRIMARY. The rules are quickly changing in order to hurt Ron Paul's changes. Don't let the control freaks win. Get busy and organized TODAY.

The mainstream candidates are all about "the base," but that's not what wins the general election. That's for the primaries.
There are TONS of people who reliably vote either Republican or Democrat but DON'T vote in the primaries. The primaries are usually reserved for the folks who think gay marriage is the most heinous and pressing issue of our time, or that abortion must be guaranteed up until the point when a baby's toes are out of the womb.
But there's a big possibility a lot of people are going to be shocked at the primaries this year. I wouldn't be surprised if new primary voters--a lot of them younger--give Mr. Paul and Mr. Obama HUGE boosts. That'll probably be "jaw-dropping" to ABC, too.

Ron Paul 08! He's the one with integrity and his record shows it. The media is beginning to see that his ideas are resonating with a large number of Americans.

Fred Thompson is the only Republican who can win.

Ron Paul is the only honest politician out there.

This is only the beginning. Now we need everyone who donated last quarter to match or increase that donation. Everyone needs to find two people who support Ron Paul but have not yet contributed. If that cant be done then hold a small fundraiser like a movie night in your home and charge 15 bucks for food and drinks and send the rest to Ron Paul. More people will be willing to contribute now since they will feel that they might actually be buying a new direction for the country and not throwing their money away. Ron Paul will win this thing if we do our part. We gotta take the power back. Find a way to double your last quarter donation.
Ron Paul baby!

Actually, Ron Paul is the only Republican that can beat Hillary in the general election.
There's no difference between Her and the rest of the Republican field.
An amazing figure to be sure, and I'm glad to have been a part of it.

Ron Paul might have more money than Fred, but Fred Thompson was on law and order. He is a great actor and would look good as president.

Now that Paul's big cash is potential ad revenue for the greedy corporate media, they suddenly awaken. Miraculous.

Ron is and always was a top tier candidate. The freedom message is popular. Join the REVOLUTION. Ron Paul in 2008

Paul is a man among crooks....as he notes: "The convictions of our Founding Fathers were strong enough for them to take on the British, while today the abuse of power by our own government, although far worse than that of the King, prompts little action"
well the MSM and ELITE that pull the strings are going to finally get a little "blowback"!!!

Wow, great Article for once about Ron Paul. You guys need to do a full section on him, kinda like the Texas Monthly Article from a couple of months ago.

Time to get busy people, we are in position, we need visibility, visibility, AND MORE visibility. Take some time away from the TV set, recreation, or whatever to engage your neighbors, church members, relatives to GET OUT and support Ron Paul via signs, donatios, rallys, signs, meetups, signs, and more signs. We are fighting mainstream America, which is about to be a 'military and/or service state' in the world governement system. Our decendents will hold us in high contempt if we allow the constitution to go by by, and it's headed in that direction extremely fast with any other candidate than Ron. If one more person calls me an 'isolationist' I think I'm going to upchuck.
Ron Paul, I mean, President Ron Paul.

LOL Gotta love the last part of the article that describes Dr. Ron Paul being a true, Conservative Republican, yet being a true, Conservative Republican could hurt him in the Republican party! LOL Just shows you what a joke the Republican part has turned into ever since the neo-cons took over.
