Rudy: After Sox Win Tonight, 'I’m Gonna Be Against Ya Again'
October 28, 2007 8:43 PM
ABC News’ Jan Simmonds reports: Rudy Giuliani, R-N.Y., said this evening that after the Red Sox win the World Series tonight, he was going to go back to rooting against them.
At a house party in Amherst, N.H., Giuliani tried to contextualize his comments last week in which he gave his public support for the Boston Red Sox in the World Series.
“My father made me a Yankee fan in Brooklyn, which was harder to be than a Yankee fan in Boston,” said Giuliani.
“I was a Yankee fan then, I’m a Yankee fan now, I’ll be a Yankee fan when I die,” added the former New York City mayor.
But he did not shy away from his support of the Boston Red Sox in the World Series, who are one win away from winning the championship.
“Almost always, I root for the American League team. I’ve made one or two exceptions, like with the Mets, like in ’86,” he said.
“I root for you now, but after tonight when ya win, I’m gonna be against ya again.”

relax... Rudy has about as much chance of winning the presidency as any GOP would... Americans have over-all snapped out of "the big stupid" they were inflicted with since 2000... it took a lot of blood and national degradation inflicted upon us by GOP in power, but none the less the GOP are history for at least another decade.

I bet he can't walk down the streets of NY without 100 bodyguards. Everyone hates him there !

I like Rudy! He changed New York and made it safe. He is best person running. Anyone who experienced NYC prior to Rudy realizes the incredible job he did changing that city. He is a proven leader and will get my vote.
It took guts to support the Red Sox. He will be a great president.

who do new yorkers detest more today, rudy or a-rod?

No self-respecting Yankees fan could back the Red Sox unless he's blatently pandering for votes. Just as a die-hard Red Sox fan couldn't back the Yankees.

Typical of any politician. Turncoat to get the vote, then back again once he's got it. RON PAUL IS THE ONLY ONE NOT DOING THIS! He put out his message, FREEDOM, and it turns out to be pretty popular. RON PAUL 2008!!!

Rudy is totally dishonest,as bad or worse then Bush. True Yankee fans are always loyal to the Yankees. It scares me that Rudy is aligning himself with the Chickenhawk, warmongering, pyscho Neocons. Neocons are Americas greatest enemy!
