Falling Flags
November 12, 2007 9:05 AM
ABC News' Eloise Harper and Rick Klein Report: It's been a rough stretch for Hillary Clinton -- a tough debate performance, a lost voice, and the revelation that the Clinton campaign had been coaching questioners at events.
Then, on Sunday, everything started falling down around her.
After a very Presidential-esque news conference - Clinton turned around to leave the reporters and their peppering questions. A staffer swooped open a curtain, and chaos ensued. Four large American flags came crashing in front of Senator Clinton as she headed for the door. In a controlled panic, the staffers and the Senator attempted to catch the flags before they fell to the ground.
Watch the i-CAUGHT VIDEO HERE.
"I think the bases are not weighted enough," Clinton said as she propped flags back up. One of Clinton's aides quickly summoned the advance man in charge to assist in the crisis.
Clinton's spokesperson shifted back and forth between the cameras and the flag commotion before looking right at the cameras and saying, "Thanks everyone."
There were no planted questions to worry about, but on this Veterans Day the flags dropping all around the Senator created quite a stir among the press before Clinton fled the scene.
There's more on Clinton's recent woes -- and whether the former first lady is looking more vulnerable than inevitable these days in The Note.

Maybe that is a sign of what would happen if she became President with a Democrat controlled congress?

No comment needed. American flags falling in the presence of Hillary says it all.

This is an omen.
America will come crashing down if Hillary is elected President.

Is that karma or what?? Even the American Flags don't like Hillary

A perfect metaphor of what Hillary's presidency would mean to this country!

Talk about a harbinger of things to come. This is actually quite amusing. Poor Hilldabeast, the fates can't be silenced despite her all consuming ambition.

poor Hillary...

Where is the video of this??? I can't find any other report of this incident online? This sounds hilarious. Can you say media blackout?? Props to Eloise and Rick for reporting the truth and the bumbling Clinton campaign.

That's exactly what would happen to the country if her or any other leftist Democrat were electron President. It would come crashing down. Didn't we learn anything from her husbands ignorance of those that want to Destroy America? I know Dems didn't.

The comments are stranger than the story....

The ghosts of veterans past definitely don't want Hillary as Commander in Chief. Hopefully this is a sign of her defeat in the general election.

"I'm glad you asked that question. I find that it's the young people who wonder why these flags would spontaniously fall whenever I'm around. Flag falling is something we have to watch very carefully. Obviously, this president and republican administration do not seriously address the concerns of the American people concerning flag falling. When I am president, we will deal with the quagmire brought about by this administration."

An omen of possible future consequences? Maybe sweeping an unqualified individual into power is not such a great idea after all?
Posted by: Frank Griffin | Nov 12, 2007 10:21:35 AM
Well, we sure saw the flags fall with Bush and his republican Congress. Seems like that is all they can do these days is make the flag fall.
Posted by: Wayne | Nov 12, 2007 10:21:45 AM
I think this was in Nostradomis's predictions.

If one believed in symbolism, or metaphors, one might think the Gods on Mount Olympus were sending a message with the falling flags about what will happen to America should this woman be elected our president. Where is a good Delphi Oracle when you need one?

Even the Flags are out to get Hilary. Dems will call it a pile on make a video calling for the banning of flags as dangerous.
Posted by: Jeff | Nov 12, 2007 10:22:30 AM
An omen?
Did the American flags fall because that is the deepest, darkest wish of Hillary? The wish being a change from democracy to socialism? Does Hillary have the wish of changing the "Stars and Stripes" for a "Hammer and Sickle"?
I wonder...

Is there video? It would make a great campaign ad.

Why is it NOW that Mrs. Clinton seems so vulnerable and coming up lacking? She's the same Mrs. Clinton as always. The only thing now is she's competing with OTHER democrats, and the media don't feel so compelled to carry her water as when she competed with Lazio back in NY. "Listening tour"! What a crock! That just allowed Mrs. Clinton the ability to take pictures and nobody as her tough questions. But the media dutifully allowed her to get away with it. But now, things are different. Her opponents are other Democrats, and the facade has been lifted.
....bout time!
